Hüsker Dü – Pink Turns to Blue Lyrics 17 years ago
The song has to be considered in the whole album meaning, that is... the story of an adolescent leaving home.
imho, this songs speaks about a girl (a whore... but she was a sort of a girlfriend) that helped him when he left home (she was always by my side...) and in the end she was found dead by him.

Pink Floyd – Atom Heart Mother Lyrics 22 years ago
thanks to Demau Senae who wrote the unique words of this impressive opera. i didn't manage to understand them.
this song is in some way related to neuclear weapons or nuclear power. but what represent the six parts of the song: a) Father's shout, b) Breast milky, c) Mother fore, d) Funky dung, e) Mind your throats please, f) Remergence
random title...? don't think so.
i would say that remergence is immediately after the explosion but it isn't... any idea?

Pink Floyd – Shine On You Crazy Diamond (Parts I - V) Lyrics 22 years ago
Don't try to find out a metaphore in every line or word of the lyrics.
this song is dedicated to syd barrett. this was said by the group members in more than one interview. somebody like to say (and perhaps is ture) that barret came in the studios during the recording of this song.
two months ago i've seen a concert of Waters: while the band played this song, behind them the megascreen over the stage was showing pictures of barrett and the first pink floyd.
i've interpreted this as a sort of celebration of the utter genius (in this i agree with FelixCloud) and the days gone by... it's true that Water had to kick him out of the band, but in my point of view "kick out" is a bit negative.

One think as a not-english-speaker i'd like to know: how do explain the title? i mean: is it imperative, conjunctive or what? "you" and "crazy diamond" are both subjects or objects or what?
thanx to whom answer. bye

pkjun is right. just depression. don't piss me off with vietnam and vietnam and vietnam again, simply because this song was used by kubrik to close FMJ or other similar stories

The Rolling Stones – Brown Sugar Lyrics 22 years ago
no oral sex or other "fanta-sex-stories".
i've read that this song is _dedicated_ to heroin: brown sugar is actually a type of heroin.
Differently from Reed's song "heroin", in brown sugar the meanings is hidden and definitely pro heroin (how come you taste so good...)
remember how this killer-drug was on fashion in the 70's...

Queen – Was It All Worth It Lyrics 22 years ago
i think this song is a pre-"show must go on". a sort of final statement of his life as rockstar. he feels near his end and wants to answer a question, that will name the song.

probably i'm wrong, because when we try to figure out the meaning of a Queen song we often tend to confuse Freddie with Queen... moreover this song (and the entire album is copyrighted by QUEEN). but:
i suppose that Freddie realized he'd contracted HIV between 1987 and 1989, i.e. the years when Queen are should have worked and composed "the Miracle" (published in may 1989).
if you look at the photos in this LP and compare them with the ones of ANY another previous LP, you'll see how Freddie has become thin (right?).
these are the reason why i think this song represents a pre-showmustgoon.

i hope my english (and point of view!) will be understood.

The Jimi Hendrix Experience – Hey Joe Lyrics 22 years ago
please no vietnam. two reason:
1. not every song written in the sisties is about vietnam. why can't a song be a normal song without any hidden meaning?
2. hendrix didn't write this song. the copyrights of this song are owned by Billy Roberts (never heard) who seemed to write this song in 1962. (check http://www.heyjoe.org/lyrics.html)

however, if this is true, we must recognize the great contribution of Hendrix. surely the arrangement of this song (as in other covers he did) is extraordinary. i don't think the original version (or any other cover) are better than hendrix one. so i consider Jimi Hendrix as the King Mida of Rock and Guitar.

Led Zeppelin – Kashmir Lyrics 22 years ago
i agree with jonzeppelin. without a doubt this song is influenced by some kind of travel (be it real or mental) in Midlle-east (the title of the song is the confirmation of it...) "alot of drugs on their travel" is likely (better than drug: psycotrop plants) but i regret the possibility they used cocaine, cause cocaine is found and cultivated in south-america not in the middle-east. second: none in the seventies knew what cocaine was, but some pharmacist and Andes autoctons. sorry for this drug-explanation. cocaine+led zeppelin isn't a good marriage at all.

i also hope your kidding mercanfat... otherwise shame on you. ciao
