i tried to hate this song and this band because the first i heard of them was one of my moron friends saying that "puddle of mudd sounds alot like nirvana"-which is my favorite band. so when i heard control i was beyond disapointed. i tried to hate puddle of mudd after that but this song is so damn good. hell most of their songs are at least above average so i am recovering from my disapointment and begining to really like them. |

it is an amazing song. i like to see it literally and symbolically at the same time and just get caught up in the emotions of loss and confusion. anyone who has lost someone knows how that person never truly leaves you but is in fact gone. |

i agree its not the greatest but damn good. the song was a sarcastic call to a revolution that ultimately made fun of his audience and reduced their attack on the system down to "a denial". better yet teen spirit was actually a brand of deodorant adding to the irony by commercializing the great anti-conformity anthem. |

this song tackled many of kurt's issuses at the time. the part about judges is for the record label hating the entire theme of in utero, the part about the witch is his anger towards the media's "witch hunt" style of attacks on courtney,the line "that legendary divorce is such a bore" is kurt's annoyance towards the media tracking all of his problems back to his parents divorce and finally the part about his bones and his dad were about his shitty childhood |

kurt had a way of changing meanings and themes half way through songs so i support both theories. but on the matter of the pices part Kurt was a pices so i feel that was about courtney veiwing him for only his stereotypical qualities when he wasn't strong for himself. |
