This is a song saying goodbye to his former band mates. (this is how I show my love) writing his own lyrics (made it in my mind because) was his decision because he wanted to write his lyrics (Blame it on my A.D.D baby) excuse given to former band members was blaming his ADD. (Sail) The guy is a surfer and he equates his surfing with the reason he started awolnation. So he could be figuratively out in the surf by himself riding his own waves as his own songwriter. (Maybe I should cry for help) his former band members thought he was loosing it. (Maybe I should kill myself) gives them a reason to feel guilty and get sympathy. (Maybe Im a different breed) Stating he is different type of person than his former band mates. (Maybe Im not listening) Agreeing with his former band mates that he in fact was not listening to them. The worst part within a relationship the tough times, no one wants them, but we all have to go through it. Nothing lasts forever, not even cold november rain...
