WOW... I can't believe yall are still on here arguing about this. Especially ODP and anyone else I may have forgotten who's been on this page regularly for the past 6 MONTHS. You keep saying the same crap over and over again. You respond to previous posters in two sentences and then write 6 paragraphs about "Cletus" and "Daisy Mae". I'm beginning to believe that no one here rereads what they write after they write it cause if you did, you would realize that you're arguments suck ass. The crazy racists aren't right and the lefties aren't right either. There have been many on here who have spoken of disliking people for their CHARACTER, not their skin color, etc. What is so freakin hard to understand about that? If you really wanna make a difference, go volunteer for a cause or something. Secondly, why is it the Southern man who is at fault for slavery? They were sold by their own people for cryin out loud. Slavery existed and was widely practiced a hell of a long time before any Africans were brought to America. Slavery main focus was economic, and and the more powerful always have enslaved the weaker (hence a weaker ethnic group usually becomes the slaves). It's how things have worked for thousands of years. No one is at fault and as soon as everyone starts believing that and acting like it then maybe some progress can be made. As long as people like ODP keep throwing blame on everyone with an opposing viewpoint, nothing will change. And they're not African Americans, they're Black Americans. I think pretty much everyone on here is missing the point. All of us can agree that Johnny Rebel's songs are mostly racist trash made by a man who saw an opportunity to capitalize on anti-black sentiment in the 1960's. They don't represent a significant part of society at all. Everyone has prejudices. If you tell me you don't then you are a liar. Even if you think you don't you are lying to yourself. It is prejudice that is based on nothing that is wrong. I don't think anyone currently posting on this board has said anything about hating someone based on skin color. Most of the posts I see are about disliking lazy and worthless people no matter what race they are. In Africa, they have to have a lot because of diseases and stuff. That's how life is where they are. I am a believer in Darwin's philosophy of natural selection and that only the strong survive. I'm not saying it's not terrible that people are dying, cause it is. But all you people complain that the US is trying to be world police but then complain that they aren't helping enough. There are reasons for not giving these countries medicine, birth control, etc. They have to learn to do things on their own. We can get them started but just giving them stuff is not doing anyone any good. I plan on abstaining until I get married, because unlike all these liberalized kids out there, I don't need instant gratification. This is why I won't father any illegitimate children. Minorities need to stop blaming everyone else for their problems. The reason we were in Vietnam was because the Russians were backing the Communists. Those wars were direct results of the Cold War. I think they were basically a way for the US and the USSR to war with each other without blowing the world to shit with nukes. We went into Vietnam with good intentions but ended up in over our heads. You can say now it was a mistake but at the time no one could have predicted it would fail. Hindsight is 20/20, after all. As for China, it had been Communist long before the Cold War, so we couldn't have done anything there. China today is Communist but economically they are allowing more and more freedom to the people. We're in relatively good standing with them I believe. I don't think there will ever be a WWIII because the US and its allies are too powerful. If someone attacked the US or an ally, that country would get pummelled. Something drastic would have to happen for a war in which both sides were exremely powerful. |

Actually, Brody, I think all those things are genetic differences. Black people on average run faster and jump higher than white people. On the other side of the coin, white people on average are smarter than blacks. Trust me, I've met some dumbass white people in my life but I recently heard a black kid who couldn't spell QUITE. AND HE'S IN COLLEGE. Thank you affirmative action! So anyway God may not have given blacks the brains but he gave them athleticism so it evens out. By the way I think affirmative action is bullshit...if you couldn't detect the sarcasm in the above statement. Ryumagick is basically right. Everyone is technically discriminates against others for one reason or another. People will always try and be better than another. Just like you want your hometown team to win the Superbowl and be the best, people in different races will always be competing to be the best. It's human nature. |

Before the "hippie revolution" STDs were barely a problem. Liberal ideas about free sex, drugs, etc. are making everyone worse off. More people are dependent today on drugs, more people of AIDS and other STDs, and more people are on welfare than ever before. It's liberal views that are teaching children to not take responsibility for themselves or their actions. There are parent's who spoil their children rotten and then there's the liberal media with all its glitz and glam. It that much harder for parents that try to raise their kids right to teach their children. Personal responsibility has declined sharply in recent years and more and more people expect others to do stuff for them. Rap music doesn't help teach kids right and wrong too, especially black kids. On racism I just think that minorities are so quick to label stuff racist it's just rediculous. I mean I'm white and if I don't like some thug black people it's not cause of their skin color it's cause they are just piece of crap people. Same goes with whites, but I just seem to notice more blacks than whites exhibiting such behavoir. |

Racism isn't that big of a problem today. It probably has gone up since 9/11 and crazy Arabs bombing everything. They're not helping they're own cause, just like blacks who continue to use and abuse the Welfare system. People can't be helped until the help themselves. There will always be lazy asses who are happy with not doing anything and getting a check from the government. As American children are exposed to more and more liberal ideas, more things will get worse than get better. Look at 50 years ago. Sure there was more racism than now but there was barely any mention of widespread STD's, etc. Today racism has gone down but now 1 in 4 sexually active teens have an STD. If everyone waited until marriage to have sex then it wouldn't be a problem but all kids wanna do is have instant gratification and it's caused by what the see on TV which is a bunch of liberal crap. They see girls shaking their asses on TV and guys using girls as objects and think it's acceptable. We have a whole generation of people growing up thinking that these behaviors are acceptable! They think it's cool to talk like idiots and be a criminal. It's cause parent's these days don't want to take responsibility for raising their children. A complete disregard for morals and values if you ask me. Anyway, songs like "Imagine" aren't talking about reducing any problems, it talks about a dreamworld that Lennon wrote about when he probably was high or something. There are better songs to represent the desire to limit society's problems than "Imagine". I think that's what people were saying when they badmouthed the song. |

stoolhardy obviously hasn't lost somebody close to him or her. granted, the music by the police is great, but p diddy used the perfect song to create his tribute. it doesn't matter that he didn't write the music, the poetry to great music does wonders. there are lots of rap to old songs like one to crazy train which totally sucks ass. this is one of the very few that is actually good. i don't like puff daddy p diddy whatever compared to older rappers, but nowadays rappers are talentless so he seems good compared to them. i don't even like rap but this song is good, as is thugs mansion by tupac. |

The problem with hippies like John Lenon is that they want to dream this amazing dream but when they come down off of their high they realize they live in the real world. To get back to this dreamy thinking they do some more drugs. After awhile, the drugs make a permanent impact on their brain, and they begin to think that everyone can just get along and live in peace, etc. I know because I (regrettably) have smoked pot a couple times and those are the kinds of things you think about when you're high. That's why I don't do drugs, because it messes with your views on the world and makes you believe you can accomplish things that are unrealistic. If Lennon's song came true then no one would have anything to work for because it would all be right there. That's why Communism failed, because there's no incentive to work harder than the next guy. It's counterprodictive. Anyway, to kill thy self, yes it is a shame that people talk like that, black or not. It shouldn't even be acceptable for blacks to speak that way. I don't know about anyone else but half the time I can't even understand what some are saying. They don't enunciate or articulate, it makes them sound like idiots. Case in point, Zidac here. I wouldn't be at all suprised if he did talk that way in public. Why would anyone purposefully want to look like they were mentally handicapped? |
