The way I see it, part of him feels he's not good enough for the other person (hence the unintended), but that can't stop him feeling the way he does. Unfortunately his past emootional baggage is holding him back. He now feels he's got something (someone) to look forward to; something to aim for; to love. Despite his past (which he's still trying to sort out) he's got a new love. |

Verse 1: Someone (possibly feeling convicted of thier sins) describing how he know's Jesus, how Jesus comes to him. Describing a vision. Chorus: God/Jesus talking to the person, reassuring him, building him up, Verse 2: Reminiscing on his sinful past, speaking to Jesus, asking Him to forgive, and protect once more. Coming back into "the flock". Bridge: Person telling God they want to be with Him more than anything. Jesus replying that He will always love him, always forgive him, always help him |
