I think that there is nothing to suggest, sex with strangers, simply sex with people you know you are just going to be selfish with and use. hence... "so be mine and your innocence i will consume" As for the innocence we know that the sex he's having is not with some prostitute, virgins or generally nice people who are going to be hurt by his selfish sex... shantixxx ?thoughts? |

I really doubt that you would come to the conclusion that it's about his ex-girlfriends aborted foetus although for most of it you do make a good argument, ie. it fits well, but, and it has been said before by someone, it's probably about our childrens' over exposure by_ the media_ or generally the world to the worlds evils. Experience, very blakien. I do like the other ideas on this board but all things being equal the most likely meaning is the obvious one... "when you've seen, seen too much, too young, young soulless is everywhere " this really does make it obvious, it's about children's over exposure to the words evils (or at least too young). shantixxx Ps. what hasn't been said (i think) is what a cracking bass riff, it glues the song together.... |

they played this crappy gig in the garage in london, there were about 100 people there, but they were already getting kinda big there, although Matt hadn't the confidence to look up at the crowd, cute now they are the best live band in brittain (according to nme and some select people). I also thought like lauradonaghy this song was about an unsopportive love, but this could well be a girlfriend, town or parents even. Anyway, i'm glad they are HUGE now... Shantixxx |
