Honestly, "Wag the dog" comes to mind when reading comments by all these intelligent thinkers above. Tons of BS is being fed to us that America isn't cracked up to what it seems to be. There must be a reason why other countries DESPISE Americans. Could it be that 1984, in the eyes of the members of Incubus, is coming true? Many teachers have told me that the English language is becoming less profound over time, as can be seen with the American GANGSTAs, etc. Maybe we should be set free from the grips of the American reality and start considering the facts that the Bush administration (if not earlier) has shown us. Dsalmiitetn has many interesting statements in his little declaration, along with many others of you. To say that Incubus should stay out of political affairs is to say that the common person should stay out of his own affairs. The government was created by the people, for the people. And we have a chance to revolt. Brandon Boyd may not be a JESUS, but he may have a valid point to believe that America is just one giant allusion. Not all countries stay strong forever. And the connection to 1984? WAR IS PEACE. Should we feel patriotic towards our country? If not, are WE the enemy? I think we should look at America as the oppressor. "Pack on powder," if that isn't war then what is? Impress me personality? That refers to a president in my book, It wasn't until the invention of TV's that our president had to look good to actually become president. How do you think FDR became so popular? Because he was the sort of guy who looked presidential. Does this mean we should believe in this good looking puppet? Honestly, no. Do Americans even have the intelligence to spend the time to research the benefits and the aspects associated with a president? Or do they tend to focus their opinions on what the tube has to offer. Instead of becoming 'electric sheep', how about we all learn to become human. That's a start. There is so much hidden within this song, that people have been blindsighted by their own stupidity. Humanity has gone to the toilet. TV advanced that progress. Maybe reading such intellectual books like 1984, Brave New world, and Animal Farm will enlighten people. Or maybe, the unthoughtful opinions of the uneducated will influence the latter.... |
