I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example:
"'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/
I touched with one
Who made me run
Away from my own soul
In this world with its
Many illusions
We are moving like mice through a
Maze
And now I find
What's left behind
Has served to make me whole
Full of doubt, deception, and delusion
Seeking purpose to all earthly days
I search within
Beneath a skin
That bears both pleasure and pain
In a world full of constant confusion
I will not be a par to the craze
In the Afterlife
Will dark be bright?
Will cold be warm?
Will the day have no night?
In the Afterlife?
Will the blind have sight?
In the Afterlife
Behind closed eyes
Some comfort lies
In knowing the truth never spoken
Through this world with us
Hidden conclusion
We'll keep moving like mice through
A maze
In the Afterlife
Will dark be bright?
Will cold be warm?
Will the day have no night?
In the Afterlife?
Will the blind have sight?

^You're clearly not a dedicated Dream Theater fan to think that.
Could it be that this song is about the... Afterlife? o.O
This song seems like yet another prequel to Metropolis and I can even say Metropolis Part 2: Scenes from a Memory, whatever it sounds great and no better than play it on Score.
one of the best guitar openers..
About what happens after death. Takes a really lighthearted approch to it, not really going into death/dieing or taking itself to seriously. Lyrics for the sake of having lyrics.
I think he's brushing aside earth and society, then basically saying saying it's nothing but deception etc. Until we die, then goes on to question the Afterlife.
I actually heard this song has much to do with Charlie being replaced. Charlie met LaBrie at an earlier date before this song was written. It sounds alot like its true. The "Afterlife" theme could be asking what would happen to Charlie once hes gone from the band.
@MKScorpion07 <br /> This song was written before Dominici's time, iirc the lyrics were done by Chris Collins, his predecessor
This is under Dream Theater, but isn't it technically Majesty?
This seems to be about not merely the afterlife, but the future as a whole and the complexity of the present.
