Some clown in
Sacramento was drugged into court
He shot his lawnmower
It disobeyed, it wouldn't start
Might makes right, it's the American Way (R)
They fined him $60 and sent him on his way
You know, some people don't take no shit
Maybe if they did if they'd have half a brain left
You know, some people don't take no shit
Maybe if they did if they'd have half a brain left

To me, the song is about people who are so intolerant that they even would destroy a simple machine because it didn't work properly. When you think about it, it can also represent how someone in a higher position could kill someone just because they refused to work. I think it was a toned down example of more serious acts of domination. I suppose Jello wanted people to compare that guy who shot his lawnmower to slave drivers or nazi's and see how much they have in common.

i think its making fun of the legal system for not allowing somone to shoot thier OWN lawnmower

i think the "take no shit" part is saying you shouldnt put up with it.

is it illeagl to shoot your lawnmower?

Not just a comment on the legal system, but also the complete lack of mental and emotional maturity in society thaty leads to people resorting to senseless violence (shooting the lawnmower) any time they're unhappy. Back to the legal system, it's also a shot at how the courts don't solve a lot of problems, and they seem to interpret "taking action" as a literal term -- their job is done because they've done something, they dont' really have to fix any problems or do anything productive.

Shooting a lawnmower is legal, but discharging a firearm within city limits is not.

And yeah, it's about people whose immature sense of machismo leads them to commit violence against anything that doesn't go their way.

If you look closely at the original liner notes included with the CD that this song is featured on, this is about a true occurance of a man from Sacramento, California, who literally shot his lawnmower because 'it wouldn't start.' And he really was fined a little over 60 dollars for doing so.

Left out part of what I meant to type there: in the liner notes, there's a newspaper clipping which shows a man mowing his lawn, with the story printed below/near that.

yeah, this is actually a true occurence.

i think with the lyrics though, its not just about the legal system but its also about angry americans. in part, its obviously about how its stupid to have laws against shooting your own lawnmower and how we fine people for stuff like that. but when jello says "you know some people just dont take no shit, maybe if they did they'd have half a brain left" you gotta see that jello is clearly (and i mean clearly, not interperatively) calling the guy who shot the mower stupid. the half a brain thing is calling him dumb, and the other bits are saying that you shouldnt take everything so seriously and be so angry that when your lawnmower won't start, you feel the need to shoot it.

Fortnight
Taylor Swift
The song 'Fortnight' by Taylor Swift and Post Malone tells a story about strong feelings, complicated relationships, and secret wishes. It talks about love, betrayal, and wanting someone who doesn't feel the same. The word 'fortnight' shows short-lived happiness and guilty pleasures, leading to sadness. It shows how messy relationships can be and the results of hiding emotions. “I was supposed to be sent away / But they forgot to come and get me,” she kickstarts the song in the first verse with lines suggesting an admission to a hospital for people with mental illnesses. She goes in the verse admitting her lover is the reason why she is like this. In the chorus, she sings about their time in love and reflects on how he has now settled with someone else. “I took the miracle move-on drug, the effects were temporary / And I love you, it’s ruining my life,” on the second verse she details her struggles to forget about him and the negative effects of her failure. “Thought of callin’ ya, but you won’t pick up / ‘Nother fortnight lost in America,” Post Malone sings in the outro.

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Cajun Girl
Little Feat
Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”
