Hmm yeah eh eh

Looks like we made it
Look how far we've come, my baby
We mighta took the long way
We knew we'd get there someday

They said, "I bet they'll never make it"
But just look at us holding on
We're still together, still going strong

Mm (you're still the one)
You're still the one I run to
The one that I belong to
You're still the one I want for life
(You're still the one)
You're still the one that I love
The only one I dream of
You're still the one I kiss goodnight

Ain't nothin' better
We beat the odds together
I'm glad we didn't listen
Look at what we would be missin'

They said, "I bet they'll never make it"
But just look at us holding on
We're still together, still going strong

(You're still the one) oh
You're still the one I run to
The one that I belong to
You're still the one I want for life
(You're still the one)
You're still the one that I love
The only one I dream of
You're still the one I kiss goodnight

You're still the one

(Ooh ooh ooh)

Yeah (you're still the one)
You're still the one I run to
The one that I belong to
You're still the one I want for life, oh yeah (you're still the one)
You're still the one that I love
The only one I dream of
You're still the one I kiss goodnight

I'm so glad we made it
Look how far we've come, my baby

Shania wrote this song for her husband, Mutt Lange. Because of their age difference, many people thought she was just using him to further her career & no one thought they'd be together for much longer. She's saying in this song that she's glad that they didn't listen to the people who doubted them. They are still together today & going on strong. Their relationship reminds me of a country Sonny & Cher.

-linds "you're still the one I love."

This song reminds me of my fiance and I. We have been together for 2.5 years, and my dad & stepmom did not think that we would make it this far. They also hoped that we wouldn't make it this long. But, my fiance and I have stayed strong, and are getting married in September! I love you babe!!

This song has a very personal message to me. When my husband and I got married, everyone in the office where we worked placed bets on how long we would last. Though there have been some very trying times, and we have been seperated 3 times, (and filed papers during the last seperation) we have hung in there. On April 6th of this year, we celebrated 9 years together. Everytime I hear this song, I feel like going up to everyone in the office and saying, "Nenner, nenner, nenner. !

I was obsessed with this song when it first came out in '97. It's no longer one of my Shania favorites because I have basically heard two albums since then, but it's still a song with a beautiful message.

I love this song, and i love singing it. It's about a couple staying together against all the odds and against what people say about them. Shania sings about the relationship surviving despite everything and that both people are still so in love. It's a really sweet song. Shania Twain is the only Country singer i really like, apart from Patty Griffin and then that's only because of the song, 'Sweet Lorraine' which reminds me of someone i know called Lorraine. 'You're Still The One' is a pretty song and the album this song comes from, 'Come On Over', in my opinion, is her best so far.

i think that this song has a deep meaning, although others did not think that the couple in the song would make it they did and they hugn on tight even through the tough times, and i think that the message is that you have to put your all into a relationship to get the most out of it.

I'd have to agree with you...a very emotional song, and if you want a wicked rock cover of this song, look for Don't Look Down's version.

Standing On The Edge Of Summer

In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Cajun Girl
Little Feat
Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,

Punchline
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran sings about missing his former partner and learning important life lessons in the process on “Punchline.” This track tells a story of battling to get rid of emotions for a former lover, whom he now realized might not have loved him the same way. He’s now caught between accepting that fact and learning life lessons from it and going back to beg her for another chance.
