Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988.
"'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it."
"There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."
Folk Implosion - Natural One
I'm the one natural one, make it easy
we can take it inside
where I can love how I like if my woman
whatever keeps me high
yeah, we can take it
good and loose on an endless spree
good because we made it
and when momma's not around there's no telling what we'll do when we're
free
I'm the one natural one, make it easy
we can take it inside
I can have it cause I act like I love it
it's a matter of pride
yeah, we can take it
good excuse on an endless spree
good because we made it
your woman's falling down, you may as well crash with me
when I'm numb natural one
it's the one natural one
there's no telling what we'll do when we're free
when I'm numb natural one
there's no telling what we'll do when we're free
it's the one natural one
that you may
as well crash with me
when I'm numb natural one
there's no telling what we'll do when we're free
it's the one natural one
there's no telling what we'll do when we're free
when I'm numb natural one

Plastic Bag

Ed Sheeran
“Plastic Bag” is a song about searching for an escape from personal problems and hoping to find it in the lively atmosphere of a Saturday night party. Ed Sheeran tells the story of his friend and the myriad of troubles he is going through. Unable to find any solutions, this friend seeks a last resort in a party and the vanity that comes with it.
“I overthink and have trouble sleepin’ / All purpose gone and don’t have a reason / And there’s no doctor to stop this bleedin’ / So I left home and jumped in the deep end,” Ed Sheeran sings in verse one. He continues by adding that this person is feeling the weight of having disappointed his father and doesn’t have any friends to rely on in this difficult moment. In the second verse, Ed sings about the role of grief in his friend’s plight and his dwindling faith in prayer. “Saturday night is givin’ me a reason to rely on the strobe lights / The lifeline of a promise in a shot glass, and I’ll take that / If you’re givin’ out love from a plastic bag,” Ed sings on the chorus, as his friend turns to new vices in hopes of feeling better.

i think this is closer anyway
The above lyrics are correct, thank you. It's 'want' and 'world'...where this "woman" thing came from, I have no idea.
Oh, this song is soooooo sexy! I used to dance to it all the time when I was a stripper back in the day and it was one of the few songs that I really got into and felt... it makes me feel a little freaky when I hear it, maybe it's the guy's voice, he sounds so seductive.
Folk Implosion rocks my socks
These lyrics are incorrect...
The song is beautiful.
If the lyrics are wrong, then fix them!
i love folk implosion and just bought one part lullaby.. in the cd jacket it's written all of the instruments that the guys played... some include "glasses of water" and "cookie sheets".... now, if a band can sound this awesome with these types of "instruments," they deserve all of the respect in the world
they are the shiznizz herd this song on KIDS realy good.
Wow, I forgot all about this song. I used to love it! Still good, though I haven't heard it in awhile.
wait, whoa. is this song about... ??? i can love how i like if i want it.... how is "like he wants it"? i can have it cause i act like i love it its a matter of pride what is it? it must be something to be proud of
answers anyone?
I'm pretty sure this is a song about promiscuity. He can sleep around with whoever he pleases, free love, he can do what he wants when no one's around. Even when it starts to feel empty and repetitive (just meaningless sex) he keeps doing it because it's become a matter of pride, and he still acts like he loves it.
I think Kiore's basically got it. One thing I'll add is that it's not just about sex, it's about hedonism and lawlessness in general - sex ("we can take it inside"), theft ("yeah, we can take it \ good and loose on an endless spree"), drugs ("when I'm numb, natural one"), and whatever else might come over the singer during all this. Also a good dollop of nihilism ("the world is falling down, and it may as well crash with me").
