You're all I have in this teenage twilight
Your golden hair and pale blue eyes
But through all the days
And the sleepless nights
We have never been satisfied
Tumbling like the leaves
We are spiraling on the breeze
Almost to the point of no return
Everything will burn baby burn

Look into my tired eyes
See someone you don't recognize
Binds that can't be untied
This is slow suicide
Feelings that I can't disguise
Never will be reconciled
Something inside has died

You walk like you're in a daze
Unresponsive eyes in a distant gaze
Like all the good times have flown away
And their memory leaves a bitter taste
Tumbling like the leaves
We are spiraling on the breeze
Destructive love is all we have
Destructive love is all I am

Look into my tired eyes
See someone you don't recognize
Binds that can't be untied
This is slow suicide
Feelings that I can't disguise
Never will be reconciled
Something inside has died

Vicious bitter words
Becoming more and more cruel
But you always take me back
And let me lick your wounds

Tumbling like the leaves
We are spiraling on the breeze
Almost to the point of no return
Everything will burn baby burn

Look into my tired eyes
See someone you don't recognize
Binds that can't be untied
This is slow suicide
Feelings that I can't disguise
We're living in a compromise
Something inside has died

This song is actually about a relationship where they have pre-maritial relations (otherwize known as sex). Burn Baby Burn, referring to the old catholic view of hell, and since pre-maritial relations are considered sinful, the meaning is cleared. "Look into my tired eyes, see someone you don't recognized" means that sex has changed everything in this relationship, making it tiring, and changing him forever. "This is slow suicide" means this will just degrade slowly and slowly forever and ever. The first few lines are describing his desperatness, and the girl. "We Have Never been satisfied" Means that this relationship already hasn't given them anything they were expecting. "Tumbling like the leaves" well, is self explanitory (after reading the above). "Feelings that I can't disguise and never will be reconciled Oh something inside has died" means that it's loveless, and what he's done he can't hide, nor will he ever feel better about it, and that something inside is that innocents virginity has in it. "You walk like you're in a daze unresponcive eyes in a distant gaze like all the good times we've thrown away and the memory leaves a bitter taste" This states that that they threw away everything for the instant gratification, and the fact he's done this just gets sickening, and the distant daze line means about the worrying that she may have ruined her life by this action. "Almost to the point of no return" means they almost got married (sex is generally something you do when you are married), a point of no return, but they never thought about or got hitched.

I first heard this when I was in Italy last summer-- I love this song.. it got me hooked onto Ash's music. I can't find their latest album anywhere tho... it's kinda disappointing.

well i like poetry, so i like lyrics a lot of songs....

"But through all the days and sleepness nights we have never been satisfied Tumble like the leaves Yeah, we must fly on the autumn breeze"

I know the feeling of never being satisfied

well here is a poem i wrote....

"walk around and what is ever found my words are deaf and my voice wasn't found no one needs to know, i need to know anyone would and you should, know

broken apart we should have a new start i can't put it in words that's why breaking against my inner wall... torn asunder ripped from under flipped around melted down into the ground

wrote a poem to somehow condone my broken home.. left alone thanks for being there....where am I? some tough times is all went out to the concert

    disregard

i once wrote a poem about love... then i realized my folly

i think way to much but that happens when everything is left to imagination just called in and now i go waited in the line

after all everything matters when it is all important"

Well I kinda look at it as a song about long distance relationships and the strain that it puts on the two people.. Though the two may care about eachother, the difficulty and the frustration of not being with one another takes a toll on them emotionally and mentally.. I think the line "we have never been satisfied" is a good example of this because with most long distance relationships, though there is a lot of love, the satisfaction will never be there since everyday contact is practically impossible.. But if you listen on, the line "this is a slow suicide" can be looked at like this... The people love eachother, but it hurts to be such a great distance away.. They love eachother to the point where they don't want to let go even though it may be for the best.. Well, at least that's what I think.. Let me know what you guys think.. It pisses me off that Ash isn't listened to by more people.. They are a kick ass band with so much talent.. Who gives a rats ass if they are on MTV or not.. They have the abilities and music, and should be everywhere.. Maybe then the world would stop being so shallow..

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Cajun Girl
Little Feat
Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.
