"Fast car" is kind of a continuation of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run." It has all the clawing your way to a better life, but in this case the protagonist never makes it with her love; in fact she is dragged back down by him.
There is still an amazing amount of hope and will in the lyrics; and the lyrics themselve rank and easy five. If only music was stronger it would be one of those great radio songs that you hear once a week 20 years after it was released. The imagery is almost tear-jerking ("City lights lay out before us", "Speeds so fast felt like I was drunk"), and the idea of starting from nothing and just driving and working and denigrating yourself for a chance at being just above poverty, then losing in the end is just painful and inspiring at the same time.

Organically grown
Through the hemisphere I roam
To make love to the angels of life, yeah
and my girl .....
I guess you just don't understand
It's gone beyond being a man
As I drift off into the night
I'm in flight
She's a boy's scoundral gal
But I'm gonna hold my cool
Cause the music rules
Yeah, so move on baby, yeah
Halfway between the gutter and the stars
Yeah
Halfway between the gutter and the stars
Yeah

Hayalperest
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere.
In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

“Plastic Bag” is a song about searching for an escape from personal problems and hoping to find it in the lively atmosphere of a Saturday night party. Ed Sheeran tells the story of his friend and the myriad of troubles he is going through. Unable to find any solutions, this friend seeks a last resort in a party and the vanity that comes with it.
“I overthink and have trouble sleepin’ / All purpose gone and don’t have a reason / And there’s no doctor to stop this bleedin’ / So I left home and jumped in the deep end,” Ed Sheeran sings in verse one. He continues by adding that this person is feeling the weight of having disappointed his father and doesn’t have any friends to rely on in this difficult moment. In the second verse, Ed sings about the role of grief in his friend’s plight and his dwindling faith in prayer. “Saturday night is givin’ me a reason to rely on the strobe lights / The lifeline of a promise in a shot glass, and I’ll take that / If you’re givin’ out love from a plastic bag,” Ed sings on the chorus, as his friend turns to new vices in hopes of feeling better.
Has anybody here read Dune? The lyrics here struck a chord with me for some reason:
First of all: "Don't be shocked by the tone of my voice it's the new weapon, the weapon of choice" - in the book characters can manipulate their voices to become a weapon control their enemies.
"Walk without rhythm-it won't attract the worm" - The book is set on desert planet which is home to huge monstrous worms. Inhabitants have to walk without rhythm so that they won't attract a worm to the surface.
"It's gone beyond bein' a man as i drift off into the night, i'm in flight-ah" - In the book, the main character is transformed into a sort of demi-god because of life on the desert planet. His powers allow him to go beyond space and time to see the future.
It's all a bit of a stretch but the lyrics fit to me.
Whoever wrote the lyrics here didn't get them all correct. In any case, I definitely agree with binks25. As soon a I saw the "Walk without rhythm-it won't attract the worm" I knew it was referring to Dune. This song isn't meaningless. Why get all riled up about a song being "meaningless" before you've looked into it at all? Sheesh.
At first I thought he said "Walk without rhythm and it won't attract the women", but after reading the lyrics here my first thought was "Dune" too.
@binks25 That actually makes the entire video make sense

In the beginning he's sitting in the chair drifting off to sleep. He's clearly a businessman of some sort bored with life, likely oil and gas or natural resources.

As the song starts he is falling asleep, he's thinking about Dune because he feels like he's in Dune. Instead of a spicer adrift in space he's an oil and gas man. The whole video he is dreaming about escaping from his life as a spicer.

The line about the angels is from Frank Herberts unpublished book Angel's Fall. He dreams about escaping to a world where he rides a boat and flies free as opposed to sitting in crummy hotel lobbies by himself waiting around.
It's an allusion to the Frank Herbert book, Dune. The power of the voice is about the Bene Gesserit power, "The Voice" which could override the higher thought processes, and essentially controls a person. And the "You walk without rhythm, and you wont attract the worm." Is talking about the advice given in Dune, how not to attract Sandworms.
this song is soooooooo cool!i could listen 2 it all day :d !
Does this song mean anything?
probably not but gud song tho
until the "organically grown" stuff, this looks more like a "Counter-Strike Secret Tip" (Counter-Strike is a computer game, btw). but the video clip has a "free your freedom" basis.
this is such an awesome song... who cares if it's about nothing! its great to dance to. Oh and i also love Christopher Walken and he was perfect in the video!
Thank god, I thought I was the only one who made that connection. I didnt notice 1 and 3, but your second point definitely stood out to me. Where else would you get something like that from? Maybe he's a Dune fan.
love the video
cool geeky song
