I have no other way, there is a price to pay
For what the man will say that I was a million miles away
In a promise full of steam, it could take no vacant dream
To persuade me to believe

I think just don't fight it, don't fight it, don't fight it
If you don't know what it is, if you don't know what it is

I left my heart in places, forgot everyone of their faces
And tried to navigate a broken path
Of which I may have helped create
In any incident, this is never no accident
To stand alone and let the silence make itself at home

Ah, give it up, those dirty tricks
No quick fix, can undo it
Ah, give it up, I won't resist
My answers always this

I said, don't fight it, don't fight it, don't fight it
If you don't know what it is, if you don't know what it is

Just don't fight it, don't fight it, don't fight it
If you don't know what it is, if you don't know what it is

Where has my light gone? Where has my fight gone?
What keeps us burning when the fire is long gone?
When I can’t relate to that voice without a face
Should I be afraid or is it just a voice I did create?

Ah, give it up, those dirty tricks
No quick fix, can undo it
Ah, give it up, I won't resist
My answers always this

I said don't fight it, don't fight it, don't fight it
If you don't know what it is, if you don't know what it is

Just don't fight it, don't fight it, don't fight it
If you don't know what it is, if you don't know what it is

No, don’t fight it
Don’t know what it is, don’t know what it is
No, don’t fight it
Don’t know what it is, don’t know what it is
No, don’t fight it
Don’t know what it is, don’t know what it is

Ah, how our brains LOVE to analyze and label and categorize. It's our futile attempt to make sense out of reality. When the truth is that is impossible. The only 'meaning' of this song anyone could offer is an explanation of how this song makes you feel personally. When I hear "the voice without a face" - that to me is the voice in your head. (Not in crazy way - c'mon.. everyone's got the voice..) "Don't fight it", "Let the silence make itself at home" .. This says to me - Allow inner peace to happen. Analysis, labeling, (fighting).. there goes the voice again. Inner turmoil. And we don't know what it is. So smile! :)

Sometimes when things happen to you that you don't understand, and you don't even have something or someone to guide you, it's not always good to run away from it.

It sounds like he's been through a lot with different people, who've all affected him, but perhaps he hasn't treated as well as he should have? ("and tried to navigate a broken path, of which I may have helped create")

Maybe now he's sick of running from people? Commitments? I think now he'd rather see it for what it is.

    Beautiful song.

When I first heard it I really though it was a spiritual song. "voice without a face" reffering to god, "In any incident, this is never no accident" I thought also reffered to a god like figure making the future. Now that I've read Deli Elli ha a good meaning too. haha, yeh i met the guys too. Jules is very nice indeed.

love this song to bits i reckon its about love, gosh as so many songs are lol i see it as him telling a chick to not fight the possibility of them having a future together if she doesnt know how she feels. dont fight it- just go along with it, see how it turns out.

but i also see deli_elly 's views as well. top job there kiddo :)

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.

Plastic Bag
Ed Sheeran
“Plastic Bag” is a song about searching for an escape from personal problems and hoping to find it in the lively atmosphere of a Saturday night party. Ed Sheeran tells the story of his friend and the myriad of troubles he is going through. Unable to find any solutions, this friend seeks a last resort in a party and the vanity that comes with it. “I overthink and have trouble sleepin’ / All purpose gone and don’t have a reason / And there’s no doctor to stop this bleedin’ / So I left home and jumped in the deep end,” Ed Sheeran sings in verse one. He continues by adding that this person is feeling the weight of having disappointed his father and doesn’t have any friends to rely on in this difficult moment. In the second verse, Ed sings about the role of grief in his friend’s plight and his dwindling faith in prayer. “Saturday night is givin’ me a reason to rely on the strobe lights / The lifeline of a promise in a shot glass, and I’ll take that / If you’re givin’ out love from a plastic bag,” Ed sings on the chorus, as his friend turns to new vices in hopes of feeling better.
