Come On, Come Out

This song is about living life! She says get out there and see the beauty of the world, because if you stay inside it will just pass you by. This is applicable to alot of kids today who are raised in front of the TV and Computer when they should be outside playing and enjoying the fresh air of life. But it also applies to people who find it easier to stay home alone rather than getting out to be with other people, even though going it is risking getting hurt by someone or something.

I gotta tell you - reading Sudol's lyrics, I just think she is BRILLIANT! This is not a collection of dopey love songs. She really has some neat things to say!

I'm not sure what this song is about, but it seems to hit me emotionally somehow. I first heard it when I stumbled across a live video performance of it on Rhapsody. It was just a lovely song sung passionately by a lovely woman smiling a beautiful smile throughout much of the song. For some reason it brings tears to my eyes every time I watch it. The album version doesn't have quite the same effect as it is not quite as subdued and lacks the visuals. It is still a great song though.

this song is so pretty. all of her songs are. she has some of the most beautiful music i have ever heard.

this song is about enjoy nature and what life has to offer you, the simple beautiful things. i love A Fine Frenzy becuase they are very aware of nature and this song just rises our emotions.

Come on.. come out of the closet :P It's so much fun outside and you can't keep your true self hidden away any longer. This song is probably more about just letting yourself go and whatnot, but I take it as coming out of the closet. Perfect upbeat song for anyone to come out.

On the surface, the song paints a lovely visual picture of a gorgeous sunny day, one which should be enjoyed outside. Because of the choice of phrase -- "Come on, COME OUT" -- I could see it being a subtle gay anthem.

This song is actually really simple if you are familiar with her songs. She speaks about how we should all go outside and observe the ever changing and beautiful nature around us or it will pass on by. Don't get stuck in your fast pace life...take the time and sit outside and just enjoy the beauty.

I like the gay anthem thing, that's what I was thinking the first time I heard it :) The way I see it, it's like when you're inside (of the closet, or really being inside could be a metaphor for depression or anything that would keep you away from the outside) you miss so much. I take the thing with the painting as a metaphor for life in general being a sort of art; everything is colors and sounds and we're all a part of it, but if you keep yourself inside you miss out on that whole transcendental thing. Very pretty song, but then it's impossible for her to write a song that isn't <3

only read over the lyrics once, but i thought about them alot more times than that...

i think it could be about a certain feeling someone might be trying to get out so they could be happy.

we all know everyones got certain feelings that they hide. but if you hide them too long, they can tend to eat away at you. in saying "come on, come out" this person might be having almost a battle with themselves, trying to get this feeling out, knowing that there may be consequences for doing so.

most of the song seems to focus on how happy the person will be once this emotion is out in the open. kind of a hopefulness that things will be okay.

however, "keep it inside, it all goes by" could also be a hopefulness - take care of the emotional issue yourself, i mean, it IS yours to deal with... and in doing so, people dont worry about you and they move on.

its a catch 22 - keeping the emotion to yourself, you could really miss out on alot of things in life. in letting it out there is a fear of loss. possibly of yourself.

• or, it could just be about enjoying the outdoors with someone you love :)
