I wake up, with blood-shot eyes
Struggled to memorize
The way it felt between your thighs
Pleasure that made you cry
Feels so good to be bad
Not worth the aftermath, after that
After that
Try to get you back

I still don't have the reason
And you don't have the time
And it really makes me wonder
If I ever gave a fuck about you

Give me something to believe in
'Cause I don't believe in you
Anymore, anymore
I wonder if it even makes a difference to try
Yeah, so this is goodbye

God damn, my spinning head
Decisions that made my bed
Now I must lay in it
And deal with things I left unsaid
I want to dive into you
Forget what you're going through
I get behind, make your move
Forget about the truth

I still don't have the reason
And you don't have the time
And it really makes me wonder
If I ever gave a fuck about you

Give me something to believe in
'Cause I don't believe in you
Anymore, anymore
I wonder if it even makes a difference
It even makes a difference to try (yeah)
And you told me how you're feeling
But I don't believe it's true
Anymore, anymore
I wonder if it even makes a difference to cry
(Oh no)
So this is goodbye

I've been here before
One day I'll wake up
And it won't hurt anymore
You caught me in a lie
I have no alibi
The words you say don't have a meaning
'Cause

I still don't have the reason
And you don't have the time
And it really makes me wonder
If I ever gave a fuck about you and I
And so this is goodbye

Give me something to believe in
'Cause I don't believe in you
Anymore, anymore
I wonder if it even makes a difference
It even makes a difference to try
And you told me how you're feeling
But I don't believe it's true
Anymore, anymore
I wonder if it even makes a difference to cry
(Oh no)
So this is goodbye
So this is goodbye, yeah
So this is goodbye, yeah
So this is goodbye, yeah

One of the few "mainstream" bands I consider good. I think the song is about a screw up and a guy knowing he can't make up for it and wondering how he could do this if he ever cared. I kinda feel this way about my relationship that ended a few months ago.

It's about a relationship that's going on and off, mostly because girl doesn't seem to care that much and she doesn't have the time for him, and they fight and break up, then make up, but this time after they got back together, she was even more distant and that's why he wonders if he ever gave a f**k about her and their relationship. He realizes he doesn't need that tension in his life, even though he cares about her: "So this is goodbye".

I think the lyric in Chorus 2 is "And it's over, I have a feeling", but other than that it seems right

Adam said in an MTV interview that the song started out about a relationship that had gone sour, but also morphed into being partially about his feelings toward the Bush administration...so I guess it's just anti-Bushes in general...

This song is about a relationship with somekind of bad girl. so it all makes sense. Actually in all the song including the part "And it really makes me wonder if I ever give a fuck about you" he wants to seem to her like he didnt care about her (but in deep he wanted her back) "Give me something to believe in 'Cause I don't believe in you anymore" Its actually about her doing smthing wrong and he cant believe her anymore even if he wants her back

I think this song is about a relationship that was in trouble, leading up to him cheating on his gf, then she uses this reason to end things.

Their relationship was volatile...despite being an asshole, part of him still wants to save the relationship but she doesn't care anymore. He's hurt that she doesn't want him back. Playa.

Um, this song isn't about cheating. He has amazing sex with a girl, but everything that comes after it is is so ridiculous he wonders if he ever could of liked the girl, so he does the simplest and smartest thing and says goodbye.

The "feels so good to be so bad" is a continuation of the sexual reference in the first stanza.

Ok yeah, I'm prepared to be crucified by the hardcore Maroon 5 lovers but yeah, I'd like to say first that I really like this song based off what it sounds like and the intonation of the lyrics with the melody of the song. With that said I think the lyrics and interpretaiton of this song is disgustingly callous and oversexed doesn't even begin to correctly identify whoever is singing the song if it isn't "Adam". A song about a guy who cheats on his girlfriend multiple times, lies about it, only wants to have sex with her again and acctually expects her to take him back...but yeah I'd just like to say again heart-wrenching emotional drama to a up beat disco beat is fun to listen to, but in actual practice could prove otherwise...sing a little diddy to your gf when she catches you in bed with another girl and see what happens...

when i first heard this song u can not imagine what was going through my head im a big fan of them but i hated what this sounded like...then after awhile i used to tell people i still have not figured out if i like it or not...now im dancing in my livingroom so i guess I LOVE IT. it is kind of harsh though

ok this is what its about...this song is about this man cheating on his girlfriend and he wants to know what made him do it if he loved her...then he thinks well if i cheated on her and i cant even give her a reason i really didnt give a fuck about her to begin with...also hes talking about the way most women react to mens excuses we dont have the time.

The band actually said they wrote this song about politics, but I doubt that. I think it's about a relationship gone wrong, and he's thinking back and wondering if he really loved her.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

No Surprises
Radiohead
Same ideas expressed in Fitter, Happier are expressed in this song. We're told to strive for some sort of ideal life, which includes getting a good job, being kind to everyone, finding a partner, getting married, having a couple kids, living in a quiet neighborhood in a nice big house, etc. But in Fitter, Happier the narrator(?) realizes that it's incredibly robotic to live this life. People are being used by those in power "like a pig in a cage on antibiotics"--being pacified with things like new phones and cool gadgets and houses while being sucked dry. On No Surprises, the narrator is realizing how this life is killing him slowly. In the video, his helmet is slowly filling up with water, drowning him. But he's so complacent with it. This is a good summary of the song. This boring, "perfect" life foisted upon us by some higher powers (not spiritual, but political, economic, etc. politicians and businessmen, perhaps) is not the way to live. But there is seemingly no way out but death. He'd rather die peacefully right now than live in this cage. While our lives are often shielded, we're in our own protective bubbles, or protective helmets like the one Thom wears, if we look a little harder we can see all the corruption, lies, manipulation, etc. that is going on in the world, often run by huge yet nearly invisible organizations, corporations, and 'leaders'. It's a very hopeless song because it reflects real life.

Magical
Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.
