To the left, to the left
To the left, to the left
To the left, to the left

Everything you own in the box to the left
In the closet that's my stuff, yes
If I bought it, nigga, please don't touch (don't touch)

And keep talking that mess, that's fine
But could you walk and talk at the same time?
And it's my mine name that is on that tag
So remove your bags let me call you a cab

Standing in the front yard telling me
How I'm such a fool, talking 'bout
How I'll never ever find a man like you
You got me twisted

You must not know 'bout me
You must not know 'bout me
I could have another you in a minute
Matter fact he'll be here in a minute, baby

You must not know 'bout me
You must not know 'bout me
I can have another you by tomorrow
So don't you ever for a second get
To thinking you're irreplaceable

So go ahead and get gone
Call up that chick and see if she's home
Oops, I bet ya thought that I didn't know
What did you think I was putting you out for?

Because you was untrue
Rolling her around in the car that I bought you
Baby, drop them keys
Hurry up before your taxi leaves

Standing in the front yard telling me
How I'm such a fool, talking 'bout
How I'll never ever find a man like you
Got me twisted

You must not know 'bout me
You must not know 'bout me
I can have another you in a minute
Matter fact he'll be here in a minute, baby

You must not know 'bout me
You must not know 'bout me
I'll have another you by tomorrow
So don't you ever for a second
Get to thinking you're irreplaceable (irreplaceable)

So since I'm not your everything (irreplaceable)
How about I'll be nothing, nothing at all to you (nothing)
Baby I won't shed a tear for you (I won't shed a tear)
I won't lose a wink of sleep
'Cause the truth of the matter
Is replacing you is so easy, hey

To the left, to the left
To the left, to the left, mm
To the left, to the left
Everything you own in the box to the left
To the left, to the left
Don't you ever for a second get
To thinking you're irreplaceable

You must not know 'bout me
You must not know 'bout me
I can have another you in a minute
Matter fact he'll be here in a minute, baby

You must not know 'bout me
You must not know 'bout me
I can have another you by tomorrow
So don't you ever for a second
Get to thinking, baby

You must not know 'bout me
You must not know 'bout me
I can have another you in a minute
Matter fact he'll be here in a minute

You could pack all your things, we're finished
(You must not know 'bout me)
'Cause you made your bed, now lay in it
(You must not know 'bout me)
I can have another you by tomorrow
Don't you ever for a second
Get to thinking you're irreplaceable

    Song Meaning

I think this song is mainly telling about someone that had given her world for someone she really loved, but he had been cheating on her back instead. She found it incredibly disappointing but she knows he's an unworthy jerk. She might have been in love with him but shw had to get over him. And she convinces both herself and that guy that he's easy to replace. Maybe, she's some girl next door who had rejected all other guys (probably ones who'd never break her heart) to be with him; it's not hard to get a guy chase after her. But she still even needs to ensure herself that she can fall for another guy instantly.

I really understand this song; the very same thing once happened to me. I could have just walk away with another guy who seemed much better than him, but I chose him. And I gave him everything. And he eventually cheated on me. I know he's a jerk and thing.. And I know I could just walk away with some other guy.

But this song is mainly about a broken heart, and be tough afterwards.

This song is an anthem to women's economic empowerment:

her guy has very little money: "Everything you own in the box to the left"... obviously, he doesnt have much if everything he owns fits in one box

meanwhile, she is rich: "In the closet, that’s my stuff ... If I bought it, please don’t touch" ... she bought her own stuff

"And, it’s my name that’s on that Jag" ... she paid for a Jaguar...

meanwhile he cant even afford his own car, or even perhaps a cell phone to call a cab: "let me call you a cab"

to her, a man is a commodity, to be replaced like a broken dinnerplate: "I could have another you in a minute"

this song is a pathetic attempt at stifling a woman's feelings of hurt and betrayal, and revelling in materialism...

the song also fails miserably in matching Beyonce's real life -- last time I checked, Jay-Z has enough money to afford a car ... and his yacht would not fit in a box...

so in real life, for all of the tens (or hundreds) of millions Beyonce has, she is still caught up in the old vision of needing to be with a man who has even more money than she does -- JayZ has at least $400 million, which is more than her

to call this song shallow and weak is an affront to other shallow, weak songs that at least have some redeeming value

the music is catchy, the rest is crappy

Yeah, I kinda agree w/ free333, the lyrics can be viewed as being extremely pretentious and greedy. I'm sure someone has already touched on this, but when you first see that song title - before youve heard the song for the first time - you probably think, 'oh no.. not another effing song about how i'll always be true and you'll always be my one and only...'. But then you listen to the song and its like, 'oh... this is a breakup tune...' So that's kinda neat, kinda unexpected. But yeah, overall, the message of the lyrics is pretty shitty.. unless of course this guy did cheat on her...

Its so strange at times when you come across good music like this..... It brings back old memories and truly speacking when my wife left me its was difficult to imagine the pain and all the good times we had share together...... and even though she's gone from my life she is still irreplaceble the song is great...... Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

Bron-Y-Aur Stomp

This is about bronies. They communicate by stomping.

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.

Punchline
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran sings about missing his former partner and learning important life lessons in the process on “Punchline.” This track tells a story of battling to get rid of emotions for a former lover, whom he now realized might not have loved him the same way. He’s now caught between accepting that fact and learning life lessons from it and going back to beg her for another chance.

Page
Ed Sheeran
There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
