This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. The lyrics are unintelligible as far as I'm concerned, even if you can make them out. I just prefer listening to how awesome the words sound.
I could never make out the lyrics on any their songs, but I kind of love them. First picked up them in '07 when I heard Universal Speech streaming on KSCU. I had never heard them before and had no idea who they were. I didn't even catch their name or the song name. It wasn't until I saw "Whip It!" about 2 years later that I discovered who they were...when I heard this song.
