I don't mind spending some time
Just hanging here with you
'Cause I don't find
Too many guys
That treat me like you do

Those other guys
They wanna take me for a ride
But when I walk, they talk is suicide
Some people never get beyond their stupid pride
But you can see the real me inside
And I'm satisfied
Oh no, oh

Even though the gods are crazy
Even though the stars are blind
If you show me real love, baby
I'll show you mine
I can make it nice or naughty
Be the devil and angel, too
Got a heart and soul and body
Let's see what this love can do
Maybe I'm perfect for you

I could be your confidante
Just one of your girlfriends
But I know that's not what you want
If tomorrow, the world ends
Why shouldn't we be with
The one we really love?
Now tell me, who have you been dreaming of?
I and I alone
Oh no, oh

Even though the gods are crazy
Even though the stars are blind
If you show me real love, baby
I'll show you mine
I can make it nice or naughty
Be the devil and angel, too
Got a heart and soul and body
Let's see what this love can do
Maybe I'm perfect for you

Excuse me for feeling
This moment is critical
And might be we feeling
We could get physical
Oh no, no, no

Even though the gods are crazy
Even though the stars are blind
If you show me real love baby
I'll show you mine
I can make it nice or naughty
Be the devil and angel, too
Got a heart and soul and body
Let's see what this love can do
Let's see what love can do
Maybe I'm perfect for you
Maybe I'm perfect for you
Maybe I'm perfect for you

Even though the gods are crazy
Even though the stars are blind
Even though the gods are crazy
Even though the stars are blind

Errr... why are some people acting like Paris Hilton is the only person in the music industry that uses digital enhancement? You god damn "hardcore" rockers (not all of you, but some) think only your musical genre is absolute and that no other contains any talent.

No talent in pop/RnB? What about Justin Timberlake? He's won Grammy Awards. He can sing, dance, write and sometimes compose music. Mariah Carey is also in pop and RnB, and she's a star! Her voice is matched by very few people. Just because they don't play electric guitar, it doesn't make them untalented!

Don't get me wrong, I hate Paris Hilton just like anybody else, but I'm not narrow-minded enough to single out one "musical artist" for taking advantage of modern technology. Rock uses it as well, to make guitar sound better (and in some cases, remove unwanted "twangs" and "echoes"). Do you have any idea how much different Gerard sounds live? No one disses him! (BTW I like My Chem!) Avril Lavigne is also a good example.

The pop genre is fast making good use of technology... in my opinion, it's almost dominated by dance pop. Not that that's a bad thing, since I like it...

I just don't think of this song highly because I can't get into it. The synth is pretty catchy, but still, the lyrics put me off.

When you critique a song, give a good reason other than the singer's personal life or modern technological enhancements that ALL stars make use of today!

I was never really a fan of Paris (I didn't hate her either), and when I heard she was coming out with an album, I actually laughed and said "OMG, can you believe that?" And then, I sampled her music for the first time, and I LOVE IT! I don't care if that's not her voice or is she is a hoe. This song is good. And it's going on my Playlist.

The Night We Met
Lord Huron
This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines: "Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet" So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other: "I had all and then most of you" Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart "Some and now none of you" Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship. This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"

Dreamwalker
Silent Planet
I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

This is a sequel to 2001's "Reckless Abandon", and features the band looking back on their clumsy youth fondly.

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

Magical
Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.
