This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines:
"Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet"
So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other:
"I had all and then most of you"
Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart
"Some and now none of you"
Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship.
This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"
The times we had
Oh, when the wind would blow with rain and snow
Were not all bad
We put our feet just where they had, had to go
Never to go
The shattered soul
Following close but nearly twice as slow
In my good times
There were always golden rocks to throw
At those who
Those who admit defeat too late
Those were our times, those were our times
And I will love to see that day
That day is mine
When she will marry me outside with the willow trees
And play the songs we made
They made me so
And I would love to see that day
Her day was mine
Oh, when the wind would blow with rain and snow
Were not all bad
We put our feet just where they had, had to go
Never to go
The shattered soul
Following close but nearly twice as slow
In my good times
There were always golden rocks to throw
At those who
Those who admit defeat too late
Those were our times, those were our times
And I will love to see that day
That day is mine
When she will marry me outside with the willow trees
And play the songs we made
They made me so
And I would love to see that day
Her day was mine

Hayalperest
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere.
In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve.
The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future.
Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere"
The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

One word... "saudade"
Same word came to my mind "saudade" of better long gone times. Fala portugues?
Oh how I love this song. Beautiful piece. It's sounds to me like he's remimiscing about a girl from, ummm, Italy, and wanting to be with her but they're far apart and communicating through postcards. The lyrics posted look pretty accurate, except for "the chattered soul" doesn't sound right.
It's such a pretty song. I get a real Jens Leckman vibe from it actually.
The third verse just makes me wibble. I do not care whether people will accept wibble as a word, it's what it does. He's singing about wanting to marry a girl and his voice is so beautiful. Zach Cordon
ah, but exactly! you can feel what he feels, exactly. it's as if you could actually touch his feelings. they have shape, they have colour, they have weight. like a dream that's a bit too real.
soft and sweet :)
It's been said, but this is truely the most beautiful song I have ever heard. I could listen to it forever, and never be let down.
This song is one of the best I've heard in many years... the vocals truly seal it
it is like i can actually see the way he looks at her and feel the way he feels when he looks at her.
wonderful!!!
This poem is the first one that I've appreciated. It's sad but I well up with the layers of meaning and could discuss it for hours. First off I take the word to be "shattered". I feel like it means he was dumped by this woman and when he looks back he feels that not just regret or longing which is good. He also seems to be reflective when he states that when he was together with her they would mock people that they saw who were busted up by loss and couldn't let go "people that give up to late". When you are with someone it is easy to say to others "get over it". It seems like he realizes it now. But after the music and the new theme kicks in you realize that he doesn't! He IS one of those people and probably like them don't realize the unrealistic goal that they may still get back together. HE'S not letting it go. He still waits for the day she'll come back to him. It's crazy what it says about human nature, and the irony is incredible.
I can't even believe it. 3 stanzas to describe something with so much meaning. Genius. That's at least how I see it. If anyone agrees please let me know.
I listen to this song to remember how is it to be in love..
