I’m having a party but you’re not invited
Pizza and fizzy-pop it’s all so exciting
Sardines and musical chairs
What a shame that you’re not here
Cos you’re not my friend anymore
You’ve made your position quite clear from your distance
What crime have I done that negates my existence?
Me and all of my other chums
Will sit and talk till the evening comes
Cos youre not our friend anymore
We’ll have fezzek
And everyone leaves with a present
Kisses and hugs it’s so pleasant
Peaceful, and I
I hate you, I hope that you die
I’m having a party and I hope that you know this
Spend Friday alone and pretend not to notice
All of the stupid things you’ve done
I know and I’m telling everyone
Cos you’re not my best friend anymore
And tomorrow I will find a new friend
From the new friend shop
And my friend you are not
And I hate you as much as I miss you

Its most defintley we'll have Pheasant. I hear Pheasant anyway.

I remember when I first heard this song, it really hit me as me and my best friend had just parted ways so to speak.

"What crime have I done that negates my existence?" and "And I hate you as much as I miss you"

are my favourite lines of this song.

I love this song cause it's so wonderfully childish and serious at the same time. But do I have an unusual version of the song? Cause in mine she clearly sings: "Me and all of my other chums Will sit and talk 'bout your smelly bum"

One of my favourite lines actually, apart from the ones prettylikedolly has already mentioned.

It also ought to be "kyrie eleison", rather than "giving liason."

Fortnight
Taylor Swift
The song 'Fortnight' by Taylor Swift and Post Malone tells a story about strong feelings, complicated relationships, and secret wishes. It talks about love, betrayal, and wanting someone who doesn't feel the same. The word 'fortnight' shows short-lived happiness and guilty pleasures, leading to sadness. It shows how messy relationships can be and the results of hiding emotions. “I was supposed to be sent away / But they forgot to come and get me,” she kickstarts the song in the first verse with lines suggesting an admission to a hospital for people with mental illnesses. She goes in the verse admitting her lover is the reason why she is like this. In the chorus, she sings about their time in love and reflects on how he has now settled with someone else. “I took the miracle move-on drug, the effects were temporary / And I love you, it’s ruining my life,” on the second verse she details her struggles to forget about him and the negative effects of her failure. “Thought of callin’ ya, but you won’t pick up / ‘Nother fortnight lost in America,” Post Malone sings in the outro.

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

The two are back together after a long period apart, and get around to enjoying a bunch of fun activities while rekindling the flames of their romance.

Page
Ed Sheeran
There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
