Just another day in the week
Waiting for an opportunity to step in front of me
Maybe I'm losing my mind
Searching for another place in another time

Real love can't be bought
It is wild and it can't be caught
Real love can't be sold
It's another color than gold

(I need your love) I just want to buy it
(I need your love) will you help me find it?
(I want your love) how can you deny it?
(I need your love) you've just gotta try it
(I want you now) something that you gotta know
(I need you now) my love for you I want to show
(I want your love) I'm telling you that I belong
(I need your love) you and me just can't go wrong

Standing on top of the world
Thinking of the joy you bring
When you do that thing to me
You sure know a lot for a girl
You can bring the good times back
Get me on the track

Real love can't be bought
It is wild and it can't be caught
Real love can't be sold
It's another color than gold

(I need your love) I just want to buy it
(I need your love) will you help me find it?
(I want your love) how can you deny it?
(I need your love) you've just gotta try it
(I want you now) something that you gotta know
(I need you now) my love for you I want to show
(I want your love) I'm telling you that I belong
(I need your love) you and me just can't go wrong

(I need your love)
(I need your love)
(I need your love)
(I need your love)

(I need your love) I just want to buy it
(I need your love) will you help me find it?
(I want your love) how can you deny it?
(I need your love) you've just gotta try it
(I want you now) something that you gotta know
(I need you now) my love for you I want to show
(I want your love) I'm telling you that I belong
(I need your love) you and me just can't go wrong

You and me just can't go wrong
You and me just can't go wrong
You and me just can't go wrong
You and me just can't go wrong

It is about someone searching for love but it seems too hard for them because love cannot be bought or sold. I'm guessing that the person in question is a business man or someone powerful because of the lyrics "Standing on top of the world". Either way this song makes me want to dance for some reason.

my father loves new order so much... and i like some songs... i just discovered this one this morning... i find the lyrics just a bit "cliche", and too easy, but i like it.

i dont know why but the "Standing on top of the world Thinking at the joy you bring when you do that thing to me You sure know a lot for a girl You can bring the good times back get me on the track" part make me think about a blowjob... ok it's not very poetic and its maybe because i'm frnech and dont understand everythin in the song... but yeah, it make me think of that...

Doitfortheteam, New Order have knack for taking simple or "easy" lyrics & making them sound brilliant & as though they have some other meaning (which they usually do)

I think is one of greatest New Order songs. The lyrics may be simple but Bernard has a way of entrancing you with his vocals. The music itself is great too. It has this somewhat dirty beat that hypnotizes you, especially that crushing sound.

The suspense thrills you from the sound of the heart beating at the start... You can almost feel the energy from this song hitting against your skin. Oh no, it must've been the vibration from my car speakers. Nevertheless, a most powerful song, with the typical New Order lyrics which make you think..."is it really as straight forward as love or is there a deeper meaning?"

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

The Night We Met
Lord Huron
This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines: "Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet" So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other: "I had all and then most of you" Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart "Some and now none of you" Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship. This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"
