Brosandi
Hendumst í hringi
Höldumst í hendur
Allur heimurinn óskýr
nema þú stendur

Rennblautur
Allur rennvotur
Engin gúmmístígvél
Hlaupandi í okkur ?
Vill springa út úr skel

Vindur í
og útilykt ? af hárinu þínu
Ég lamdi eins fast og ég get
með nefinu mínu
Hoppa í poll
Í engum stígvélum
Allur rennvotur(rennblautur)
Í engum stígvélum

Og ég fæ blóðnasir
En ég stend alltaf upp
(Hopelandish)

Og ég fæ blóðnasir
En ég stend alltaf upp
(Hopelandish)

    Translation:

    "Jumping in Puddles"

Smiling Spinning 'round and 'round Holding hands The whole world a blur But you are standing Soaked Completely drenched No rubber boots Running in us Want to erupt from a shell

Wind in An outdoor smell of your hair I hit as fast as I could With my nose

Hopping into puddles Completely drenched Soaked With no boots on

And I get nosebleed But I always get up (Hopelandic)

And I get nosebleed But I always get up (Hopelandic)

i really like this song... it's really pretty... it's one of those songs that'll make you happy when you want to be happy and sad when you want to be sad... if that makes any sense at all...

It's funny because I don't understand a word he's saying, but i feel like i know the meaning of the song. The way the song is built. It's in the movie Children of Men which I can wait to see. It's probably a little bit because of the song...

The lyrics translated to english sounds a bit funny, but if you watch the music video they make perfect sense. The song is beautiful, with an equally beautiful music video. I'm majoring in gerontology (caring for the elderly) and the video for this song almost brought me to tears...seeing the elderly run around like young children again, regaining their youthful vigor and grace....absolutely beautiful.

    Song Meaning

When I hear this song all I picture, in terms of its meaning, is two lovers standing, oblivious to all the negativity that they are surrounded by - all they know is that as long as they have each other they can get through anything and everything life throws at them. This song is full of so much positivity and hope and everytime I hear it I'm filled with optimism and I burst into tears. I'll definately be walking down the aisle to this song...

"Brosandi Hendumst I hringi Holdumst I hendur....."

    I think I'm gonna cry....

the lyrics translated sound a bit goofy but this song has so much hope embedded in it and it just makes me so happy every time i listen. Saw them do this one live and Jonsi played a semi-hollow bass so we had a 2-bass song and it was pretty fantastic.

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Fast Car
Tracy Chapman
"Fast car" is kind of a continuation of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run." It has all the clawing your way to a better life, but in this case the protagonist never makes it with her love; in fact she is dragged back down by him. There is still an amazing amount of hope and will in the lyrics; and the lyrics themselve rank and easy five. If only music was stronger it would be one of those great radio songs that you hear once a week 20 years after it was released. The imagery is almost tear-jerking ("City lights lay out before us", "Speeds so fast felt like I was drunk"), and the idea of starting from nothing and just driving and working and denigrating yourself for a chance at being just above poverty, then losing in the end is just painful and inspiring at the same time.

The Night We Met
Lord Huron
This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines: "Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet" So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other: "I had all and then most of you" Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart "Some and now none of you" Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship. This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"

Blue
Ed Sheeran
“Blue” is a song about a love that is persisting in the discomfort of the person experiencing the emotion. Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there. He expresses the realization that he might never find another on this stringed instrumental by Aaron Dessner.

American Town
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran shares a short story of reconnecting with an old flame on “American Town.” The track is about a holiday Ed Sheeran spends with his countrywoman who resides in America. The two are back together after a long period apart, and get around to enjoying a bunch of fun activities while rekindling the flames of their romance.
