I turned my back on my mother's milk
But I want it back
It was already spilt
I can't get me behind me
'Cause the devil is on my tail, so to speak
I said, somebody's going to jail

Take my doll put on her pretty clothes
Don't you soil her dress
Brush her hair, paint her lips like a rose
Cover up your mess

Strip, baby, strip, cause your daddy is watching
Strip, baby, strip, JonBenét
Strip, baby, strip, cause your mother knows nothing
Strip, baby, strip, JonBenét

Someone said the doctor is my friend
The bruising is his cause
My soul to save a smoking gun in bed
Behind closing doors

Strip, baby, strip, for the soul of your brother
Strip, baby, strip, for his wife
Strip, baby, strip, cause you know she's not willing
Strip, baby, strip, by the knife

I lost my doll, put on my pretty clothes
I won't soil my dress
I brush my hair, paint my lips like a rose
I cover up my mess

Strip, baby, strip, for the soul of your mother
Strip, baby, strip, for her life
Strip, baby, strip, cause you know you're worth nothing
Strip, baby, strip, by the knife

Strip, baby, strip, cause your daddy is watching
Strip, baby, strip, JonBenét
Strip, baby, strip, cause you know you're worth nothing
Strip, baby, strip, JonBenét

This is one of my favorite QA songs....sigh...

This song is about JonBenet Ramsey, the six-year old American beauty queen who was murdered on Christmas day in 1996. Her brother and both of her parents were suspected in turn for her death.

By the way, does anyone know what Katie Jane sings between the lines "Bruising is his cause" and "behind closing doors"?

JonBenét Ramsey, 6 -- Early on December 26, 1996, Patsy Ramsey called 911 to report her daughter JonBenet missing from her bed. A ransom note demanding $118,000 was left. Hours later, with law enforcement at the home. JonBenet's father, John Ramsey, found her battered, strangled body in the basement of their Boulder home.

'Butcher and the butterfly' is about the Jon Benet case.

"My soul to save a smoking gun in bed. "

The intruder theory is supported by unidentified boot print outside the house, unknown male DNA on her underpants, marks possibly by a stun gun; and signs that someone entered through a basement window.

Beyond the obvious meaning and reference to the JonBenet Ramsey murder case, this song screams to me about a girl who feels (or is) worth nothing more than sex. "Pretty" (of "pretty clothes") seems to have a shallow connotation as does "paint her lips like a rose" (roses die and therefore can represent empty beauty in this case).

And obviously "strip, baby, strip cos you know you're worth nothing" speaks pretty clearly...

    Just my thoughts...

P.S. The lyrics posted here are incorrect, but the corrected ones are posted next to it on the list of Queen Adreena songs. :)

Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

Same ideas expressed in Fitter, Happier are expressed in this song. We're told to strive for some sort of ideal life, which includes getting a good job, being kind to everyone, finding a partner, getting married, having a couple kids, living in a quiet neighborhood in a nice big house, etc. But in Fitter, Happier the narrator(?) realizes that it's incredibly robotic to live this life. People are being used by those in power "like a pig in a cage on antibiotics"--being pacified with things like new phones and cool gadgets and houses while being sucked dry. On No Surprises, the narrator is realizing how this life is killing him slowly. In the video, his helmet is slowly filling up with water, drowning him. But he's so complacent with it. This is a good summary of the song. This boring, "perfect" life foisted upon us by some higher powers (not spiritual, but political, economic, etc. politicians and businessmen, perhaps) is not the way to live. But there is seemingly no way out but death. He'd rather die peacefully right now than live in this cage. While our lives are often shielded, we're in our own protective bubbles, or protective helmets like the one Thom wears, if we look a little harder we can see all the corruption, lies, manipulation, etc. that is going on in the world, often run by huge yet nearly invisible organizations, corporations, and 'leaders'. It's a very hopeless song because it reflects real life.

Blue
Ed Sheeran
“Blue” is a song about a love that is persisting in the discomfort of the person experiencing the emotion. Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there. He expresses the realization that he might never find another on this stringed instrumental by Aaron Dessner.

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.
