What day is it
And in what month?
This clock never seemed so alive
I can't keep up, and I can't back down
I've been losing so much time

'Cause it's you and me
And all of the people with nothing to do
Nothing to lose
And it's you and me
And all of the people
And I don't know why
I can't keep my eyes off of you

What are the things that I want to say
Just aren't coming out right?
I'm tripping on words
You got my head spinning
I don't know where to go from here

'Cause it's you and me
And all of the people with nothing to do
Nothing to prove
And it's you and me
And all of the people
And I don't know why
I can't keep my eyes off of you

There's something about you now
That I can't quite figure out
Everything she does is beautiful
Everything she does is right

'Cause it's you and me
And all of the people with nothing to do
Nothing to lose
And it's you and me and all of the people
And I don't know why
I can't keep my eyes off of you and me
And all of the people with nothing to do
Nothing to prove
And it's you and me and all of the people
And I don't know why
I can't keep my eyes off of you

What day is it?
And in what month?
This clock never seemed so alive

This song really means a lot to me. Cause I've been in love with my best friend for quite some time, but she really never expressed interest in me. At least not in the same way I did her. A bunch of her girlfriends were telling me to just wait...that she'd fall for me in time. So I waited 2 long years. And still nothing. She was dating some douchebag womanizer that always hurt her, yet she continued to date him. She found out a few months ago that her douchey boyfriend had been cheating on her and she got mad. He dumped her though. I went over to her house and she was crying. It hurt me to see her cry. I gave her a long hug and she ended up fallen asleep in my arms. It seemed like nothing could ruin that perfect moment. Later that night someone at our school was having a party. They played this song and all the happy couples got up to dance while her and I sat around feeling miserable because we didn't have anyone to dance with. Suddenly I got an idea. I stood up and asked her to dance. She said yes ad we went into the crowd where everyone was dancing, and time seemed to go on forever. It was almost as if it was just her and I dancing, and no one else was there. When the second chorus started I leaned down and kissed her...it was almost like a scene in a movie. She kissed me back, and it felt like there was nothing wrong in the world. Like all the darkness had faded to light. It was magical. When the song ended we sat back down, but this time sitting in one of two chairs. We cuddled for a while, and after a little bit, I asked her out.

Now five months later we're a happy couple. She applied to a different college than I and got accepted. I got accepted to the other college...but I didn't want to leave her. So I applied to the college she applied to and got accepted. So now we'll be together in college as well.

This is one of my favorite songs...it really expresses all the emotions you feel when you're in love.... Happiness. Fear. Strength. Weakness. All those emotions mixed together to create that special feeling.

The feeling you never want to forget.

I LOVE this song!! The song's about a guy who's in love with a girl that he has know for quite a while. He wants to tell her how he feels about her but he keeps delaying it. In a room full of people, his eyes are always on her.

AND... I absolutely love the line ... "and I don't know why I can't keep my eyes off of you." because sometimes; we don't know, it just sort of happens that way and we can't explain it. Just another lovable mystery in life.

this song is beautiful...and very real. We've all had a time in our lives where we felt this way and this brings back a lot of memories of that. Pure, raw, in-the-flesh love.

for some reason, when i hear this song, not only do i think of one person falling for another, but it sounds like a perfect song to play at the end of the year for senior slide shows and that kind of stuff. I can see people crying while looking at pictures of their friends with this song playing. hope that made sense.

genious!! this song is about how a guy is completely infatuated with a girl.so in love that he is mesmorised by her perfection and beauty. his fantisy that he is caught up in puts him and her in a bubble. no one else matters not all of the people around, nothing to prove. he can do nothing but stare at her. "what day is it and in what month " his head is filled with her he cant even figure out the day.

I think this song is about a guy who is in love with a girl who is maybe a little out of his league, but he's still in love with her. He's also a little afraid to tell her. Anyway, this is an amazing song.

"Everything she does is beautiful, Everything she does is right"

This lyrics just blow me away. It's probably because I feel they show someone that is deeply in love because if you love someone deeply, you don't want to or can't see wrong in them.

Ahh this song is amazing, about truly and completely loving somebody.. but it kind of has a sad, looking back tone to it. I donno, can't explain it

I really like this song. It expresses, what I feel and what a lot of others feel I'm sure, the confusion and pain you go through to tell the person you love how you feel about them. Everything is blocked out of your mind, everything is perfect. I think falling in love, is worth it, even if it ends in pain.

GetsomeARRR, your comment was rude, unwanted and completely irrelevant. For your information, I found Validus' comment quite interesting. And just so you know, you spelled "you're" wrong.

I think the same as most of the people here. This couple is in love and the time just "dies" when they're together.

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

The Night We Met
Lord Huron
This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines: "Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet" So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other: "I had all and then most of you" Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart "Some and now none of you" Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship. This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

Plastic Bag
Ed Sheeran
“Plastic Bag” is a song about searching for an escape from personal problems and hoping to find it in the lively atmosphere of a Saturday night party. Ed Sheeran tells the story of his friend and the myriad of troubles he is going through. Unable to find any solutions, this friend seeks a last resort in a party and the vanity that comes with it. “I overthink and have trouble sleepin’ / All purpose gone and don’t have a reason / And there’s no doctor to stop this bleedin’ / So I left home and jumped in the deep end,” Ed Sheeran sings in verse one. He continues by adding that this person is feeling the weight of having disappointed his father and doesn’t have any friends to rely on in this difficult moment. In the second verse, Ed sings about the role of grief in his friend’s plight and his dwindling faith in prayer. “Saturday night is givin’ me a reason to rely on the strobe lights / The lifeline of a promise in a shot glass, and I’ll take that / If you’re givin’ out love from a plastic bag,” Ed sings on the chorus, as his friend turns to new vices in hopes of feeling better.
