@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday".
I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.
Helping the kids out of their coats
But wait the babies haven't been born, oh oh oh
Unpacking the bags and setting up
And planting lilacs and buttercups, oh oh oh
But in the meantime, I've got it hard
Second floor living without a yard
It may be years until the day
My dreams will match up with my pay
Old dirt road (mushaboom, mushaboom)
Knee deep snow (mushaboom, mushaboom)
Watching the fire as we grow (mushaboom, mushaboom)
Old
I've got a man to stick it out
And make a home from a rented house, oh oh oh
And we'll collect the moments one by one
I guess that's how the future's done, oh oh oh
How many acres how much light
Tucked in the woods and out of sight
Talk to the neighbors and tip my cap
On a little road barely on the map
Old dirt road (mushaboom, mushaboom)
Knee deep snow (mushaboom, mushaboom)
Watching the fire as we grow (mushaboom, mushaboom)
Old (mushaboom, mushaboom)
Old dirt road
Rambling rose (mushaboom, mushaboom)
Watching the fire as we grow (mushaboom, mushaboom)
Well earned soul, oh

This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.
Just A Little Lovin'

I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example:
"'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
Mushaboom is a village on the southeast coast of Nova Scotia, about 75 miles east of Halifax. Presumably an idyllic location to settle down and live a quiet life.
I absolutely love this song! It's definitely one of my favourite Feist songs.
To me, this song has always been about living life to its fullest and enjoying everything you can. It's so cute, and Feist has such a nice voice!
beautiful about growing old with someone etc.
this song is great... the way her voice raises up and down. the bright eyes cover is good as well, although it doesn't match up to the original.
this song is so much fun great for long drives on summer days
fun song, pretty voice
I finally got a hold of it and, yes, it was lovely. I still like the original better. The only problem is, whenever I get the song stuck in my head, it plays back as Feist's music with Oberst's voice. shakes head
I'm actually pretty sure Bright Eyes is the one covering... This is Feist's song.
Southbound is correct. This was written by Feist and Bright Eyes covered it and released it on their "Motion Sickness" (its a live album)
I really like this song.
But I do not know what a "Mushaboom" is.
