Well let the geek in the pink take a stab at it
If you like the way I'm thinkin' baby wink at it
I may be skinny at times but I'm fat full 'a rhymes
Pass me the mic and I'm a grab at it a
Isn't it delicious crazy way that I'm kissin'
Cause baby listen to this don't want to miss it while it's hittin'
Sometimes you gotta fit in to get in
But don't ever quit so soon I'm gonna let you win but see

I don't care what you might think about me
You can vibe without me if you want
I could be the one to take you home
Baby I could rock the night alone
If we never get down it wouldn't be a let down
But sugar don't forget what you already know
I could be the one to turn you out
We could be the talk across the town
Don't judge me by the color, confuse it for another
You might regret what you let slip away

I'm the geek in the pink pink pink
I'm the geek in the pink yeah

Well this relationship fodder don't mean to bother nobody
But cupid's automatic musta fired multiple shots at her
Because she fall in love too often that's what the matter
At least I talk about it keep a pattern of flattery and a
She was staring through the doorframe
Eyeing me down like already a bad boyfriend
Well she can get her toys outta the drawer then
Cause I ain't comin' home, I don't need that attention, see

I don't care what you might think about me
You'll get by without me if you want
I could be the one to take you home
Baby we could rock the night alone
If we never get down it shouldn't be the let down
But sugar don't forget what you already know
I could be the one to turn you out
You could be the talk across the town
Don't judge it by the color, confuse it for another
You might regret what you let slip away

I am more than you're thinking
Hey look at me go
From hero to zero
Oh take it from a geek like me
I can save you from unoriginal dumb-dums
Who wouldn't care if you com...plete him or not

So what I've got a short attention span
A coke in my hand
Because I'd rather have the afternoon, relax and understand
Mm hip hop and flip flops it don't stop with the light rock
A shot to mock you kinda puts me in the tight spot
The hype is nothing more than hoo-hah so I'm
Developing a language and I'm calling it my own
So take a peek into the speaker and you'll see what I mean
That on the other side the grass is greener

I don't care what you might think about me
You'll get by without me if you want
I could be the one to take you home
Baby we could rock the night alone
If we never get down it wouldn't be the let down
But sugar don't forget what you already know
I could be the one to turn you out
We could be the talk across the town
Don't judge it by the color, confuse it for another
You might regret what you let slip away

I'm the geek in the pink pink pink
I'm the geek in the pink yeah
I'm the geek in the pink
All y'all it's the new color for fall

He's telling a girl not to judge him just because he's kind of nerdy and to not judge him based on her past relationships with assholes because that's not him. She could be missing out on the best sex/relationship with him just because he's not the "typical" attractive male specimen. His lyrics are pretty straight forward here.

i think this song is about interracial dating. Jason is into women of different ethnicicties in general.

    he is saying,

I could be the one to turn you out We could be the talk across the town Dont judge me bu the color, Confuse for another you might regret what you let slip away.....

talk of the town (refering to people staring cus of the difference in race)

dont judge me by the color (just becasue im a nerdy white guy, doesnt mean i cant turn you out)

At first listen, I thought that this song was about interracial relationships. A minority cool girl, and a geeky white guy. o.O

Geek in the Pink is wordplay - yeah, it can mean "I'm wearing a pink shirt" but it doesn't - it's the same "Pink" Aerosmith went on about at least a decade ago (vagina).

Likewise, "It's laundry day!" could mean literally that he's doing laundry and he made everything pink. Haven't you all heard the phrase "airing your dirty laundry" though? That's what he's really saying - that he's about to spend a song talking about his issues with his girl.

I love how Mraz plays on words and phrases and how almost every song he has includes some sort of innuendo.

While this song is certainly "about" a multitude of things (laundry washing, acceptance, sexuality, etc)

It's based on a time when he was involved in an impromptu recording session in Miami with beatmaker Scott Storch.

"I showed up at the studio and we don't even know what we're gonna do," Mraz recalled. "Then Scott came up with this crazy loop and the room just became filled with MCs that just started flowing. And here I am, this skinny little white kid wearing this pink polo shirt, just feeling totally awkward. I probably looked like the biggest nerd in there."

    a lot different than usual

definitely has to do with prejudice, the cheerleading thing might have something to do with it, haha..

This reminds me of one guy I know (male cheerleader, wears pink often.) And yet all the ladies love him. It's basically, hey, we could get together or we might not, I don't care either way. Mark my words, this is gonna be a hit single. Jason, you've done it again, my love.

Also, more generalized I think it's about not judging a book by it's cover because you may be missing out. Don't worry so much what others think of you, just follow your heart.

Cajun Girl
Little Feat
Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,

No Surprises
Radiohead
Same ideas expressed in Fitter, Happier are expressed in this song. We're told to strive for some sort of ideal life, which includes getting a good job, being kind to everyone, finding a partner, getting married, having a couple kids, living in a quiet neighborhood in a nice big house, etc. But in Fitter, Happier the narrator(?) realizes that it's incredibly robotic to live this life. People are being used by those in power "like a pig in a cage on antibiotics"--being pacified with things like new phones and cool gadgets and houses while being sucked dry. On No Surprises, the narrator is realizing how this life is killing him slowly. In the video, his helmet is slowly filling up with water, drowning him. But he's so complacent with it. This is a good summary of the song. This boring, "perfect" life foisted upon us by some higher powers (not spiritual, but political, economic, etc. politicians and businessmen, perhaps) is not the way to live. But there is seemingly no way out but death. He'd rather die peacefully right now than live in this cage. While our lives are often shielded, we're in our own protective bubbles, or protective helmets like the one Thom wears, if we look a little harder we can see all the corruption, lies, manipulation, etc. that is going on in the world, often run by huge yet nearly invisible organizations, corporations, and 'leaders'. It's a very hopeless song because it reflects real life.

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

Page
Ed Sheeran
There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
