Slow down! This is slippin' through my mind,
The conversation has run out of time.
Honey, I know you know what I mean,
& that's the one thing that you soon will find...

I know that you really wanna go,
Your mind is runnin' outta gas
Just relax and recap and relapse tonight.
My body's jumpin' and I,
Go through the motions,
And I'm leaving on this journey,
Maybe someday I'll come running back to you!

I don't wanna see the day,
My words cannot make it safe.
(come running home, come running home!!)
Her heart, in my hands, it's too bad. no regrets...
I don't wanna see the day,
Her tears are falling on my grave.
(come running home, come running home!!)
This is my one chance to take back,
No regrets...

Let's go! I just wanna let you know,
This situation leaves me outta breath.
We'll drive till' the love that's in your eyes drops to the ground,
Unravels like a thread.

I know that you really wanna go,
I only think about her, must get to her,
Cannot lose her...
You know that I will not let this die,
Life support systems and my mind on
Rewind and rewind and rewind!

I don't wanna see the day,
My words cannot make it safe.
(come running home, come running home!!)
Her heart, in my hands, it's too bad. no regrets...
I don't wanna see the day,
Her tears are falling on my grave.
(come running home, come running home!!)
This is my one chance to take back,
No regrets...

mhm I'm sure that everyone that is saying that they know the meaning of the song title has, well you know, asked Thom in person and all.... and if you did(or claim to), you're also sure that he wasn't spreading a false rumor because he wants people to sit here and talk about his band. I don't see why everyone is arguing over something that they don't know to be true. I mean don't sit here and say that somethin IS unless you beyond a shadow of a doubt know that it is true, and not some rumor that one of youre friends told you or that you saw on the internet. Now if someone actually wants to back their opinion with a credible source and not something that they read once or heard this guy talking about, then I think people should actually listen to what you have to say...... but untill then why bother?

    These are the correct lyrics:

    Song Meaning

I thought that a guy is doing something dangerous and regrets doing it because of his love for another girl and realising how much he loves her and he just wants to spend time with her.

--I know that you really wanna go, --Your mind is runnin' outta gas just relax and recap and relapse tonight. --My body's jumpin' and I, go through the motions, --And I'm leaving on this journey, maybe someday I'll come running back to you!

I think this part is describing right before he is about to leave, and that the girl wants to go with him to help/be with him and that she is afraid.

--Her heart, in my hands, it's too bad, no regrets... --I don't wanna see the day, her tears are falling on my grave.

He knows that she loves him and that it will end up in her being hurt if he dies.

--(come running home, come running home!) --This is my one chance to take back, no regrets...

Him telling himself to go home or stop doing what he is doing.

--Let's go! --I just wanna let you know, this situation leaves me outta breath.

Him deciding to leave and telling her that he hates his situation too.

--I only think about her, must get to her, cannot lose her...

Him realising that she's the most important thing to him.

--You know that I will not let this die, life support systems and my mind on rewind and rewind and rewind!

Either he is thinking all of this after he has been hurt bad, dying, or before he gets to that point. He wants to go back and spend his time with her.

It's missing a line. Between "I only think about her, must get to her, cannot lose her... " and "I don't wanna see the day, my words cannot make it safe." at about the 1:50 mark of the song.

It starts like this... "You know that I will not let this die" but I'm not sure of the rest.

It's funny how you kids actually think any of those bullshit meanings for the acronym is true.

I only think about her, must get to her, cannot lose her...

I don't wanna see the day, my words cannot make it safe.

I know there is a line in between those two. I know there is, and I wanna know exactly what it is, all I can make out is that it is "You know, that I will not let this twilight...(wtfwtfwtfsomethingherewtf)...AND REWIND AND REWIND!!!"

Whoops, or it could be "die..." I guess that would make more sense than Twilight.

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

No Surprises
Radiohead
Same ideas expressed in Fitter, Happier are expressed in this song. We're told to strive for some sort of ideal life, which includes getting a good job, being kind to everyone, finding a partner, getting married, having a couple kids, living in a quiet neighborhood in a nice big house, etc. But in Fitter, Happier the narrator(?) realizes that it's incredibly robotic to live this life. People are being used by those in power "like a pig in a cage on antibiotics"--being pacified with things like new phones and cool gadgets and houses while being sucked dry. On No Surprises, the narrator is realizing how this life is killing him slowly. In the video, his helmet is slowly filling up with water, drowning him. But he's so complacent with it. This is a good summary of the song. This boring, "perfect" life foisted upon us by some higher powers (not spiritual, but political, economic, etc. politicians and businessmen, perhaps) is not the way to live. But there is seemingly no way out but death. He'd rather die peacefully right now than live in this cage. While our lives are often shielded, we're in our own protective bubbles, or protective helmets like the one Thom wears, if we look a little harder we can see all the corruption, lies, manipulation, etc. that is going on in the world, often run by huge yet nearly invisible organizations, corporations, and 'leaders'. It's a very hopeless song because it reflects real life.

Page
Ed Sheeran
There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
