Sensation washes over me, I can't describe it
Pain I felt so long ago, I don't remember
Tear a hole so I can see my devastation
Feelings from so long ago, I don't remember

Holding on to let them know
What's given to me, given to me
To hide behind the mask this time
And try to believe

Blind your eyes to what you see, you can't embrace it
Leave it well enough alone and don't remember
Cut your pride and watch it bleed, you can't deny it
Pain you know you can't ignore, I don't remember

Holding on to let them know
What's given to me, given to me
To hide behind the mask this time
And try to believe

If I can remember
To know this will conquer me
If I can just walk alone
And try to escape into me

Sensation washes over me, I can't describe it
Pain I felt so long ago, I don't remember

I'm just holding on to let them know
What's given to me, given to me
To hide behind the mask this time
And try to believe

If I can remember
To know this will conquer me
If I can just walk alone
And try to escape into me
Into me
Into me

what the fuck, saying "this song rules, this song is awesome, i love disturbed" isnt giving the song any meaning, shit, people are so retarded, 'Remember' is about — not focusing on all of the existential chaos that's going on around me and not necessarily getting drawn back into bad habits.

I think this song is saying that it is easier to hide your feelings, and forget your past, so you wont have to remember the pain, or feel the pain that you once had, and no one will judge you based on what happened to you previously... but, thats just me =P i love this song... hits really "close to home"...

Ok, first thing's first... this song is probably my favorite Disturbed song. I love it because the first time I heard it, I thought it sounded distinctively different from Disturbed's other songs and you just gotta love the lyrics!

Anyways... I'm not entirely sure what David's singing about in this song... but I DO think it's pretty obvious that he's singing about how a person can hide behind a false facade in an attempt to ignore and forget the pain he/she has felt in the past.... meh... sorry for pointing out the obvious, but that's all I can think of right now :P

there is really alot more to be said other than "this song is cool." i really think "Holding on to let them know" and "And try to believe" is really saying the he is going to stay strong and believe in himself because and wants everyone to know that all he needs is belief in himself.

that's awesome. i mean, can anyone believe in you if you don't believe in yourself?

I read an interveiw with the singer of the band and he said the song is about remembering not to drink too much (or not at all) or else his voice will get fucked up. The way David sings, he really shouldn't drink or smoke or else he'll fuck his voice up and then there is no Disturbed.

Saw an interview on MuchMusic on a show called Uranium where David explains the songs meaning.

He stated that it is hard to go back and live a normal life, now that he and other band members are "famous". He often feels he hides behind a mask and it hard to really be himself.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.

Plastic Bag
Ed Sheeran
“Plastic Bag” is a song about searching for an escape from personal problems and hoping to find it in the lively atmosphere of a Saturday night party. Ed Sheeran tells the story of his friend and the myriad of troubles he is going through. Unable to find any solutions, this friend seeks a last resort in a party and the vanity that comes with it. “I overthink and have trouble sleepin’ / All purpose gone and don’t have a reason / And there’s no doctor to stop this bleedin’ / So I left home and jumped in the deep end,” Ed Sheeran sings in verse one. He continues by adding that this person is feeling the weight of having disappointed his father and doesn’t have any friends to rely on in this difficult moment. In the second verse, Ed sings about the role of grief in his friend’s plight and his dwindling faith in prayer. “Saturday night is givin’ me a reason to rely on the strobe lights / The lifeline of a promise in a shot glass, and I’ll take that / If you’re givin’ out love from a plastic bag,” Ed sings on the chorus, as his friend turns to new vices in hopes of feeling better.
