Some people get by
wirh a little understanding
Some people get by with a whole lot more
I don't know, why you gotta be so undemanding
One thing I know, I want more, I want more

And I need all the love that I can't get to
And I need all the love I can get
And I need all the love that I can't get to

D'you get scared to feel so much?
To let somebody touch you?
So hot, so cold, so far so out of control
Hard to come by, and harder to hold

Some people get by with a little understanding
Some people get by with a whole lot more
I don't know, why you gotta be so undemanding
I want more

And I need all the love I can get
And I need all the love that I can't get to
And I need all the love I can get
And I need all the love that I can't get to

There are parts of me that don't get nervous
Not the parts that shake
You won't get what you deserve
You are what you take

Learning to cry for fun and profit
I'm not done yet
Counterfeit dollars or the English Zloty
Anything I can get

Some people get by with a little understanding
Some people get by with a whole lot more
I don't know, why you gotta be so undemanding
One thing I know, I want more

And I need all the love I can get
And I need all the love that I can't get to
And I need all the love I can get
And I need all the love that I can't get to

And I need all the love I can get
And I need all the love that I can't get to
And I need all the love I can get
And I need all the love that I can't get to

And I need all the love I can get
And I need all the love that I can't get to
And I need all the love I can get
And I need all the love that I can't get to

And I need all the love I can get
And I need all the love that I can't get to
And I need all the love I can get
And I need all the love that I can't get to

And I need all the love I can get
And I need all the love that I can't get to
And I need all the love I can get
And I need all the love that I can't get to

And I need all the love I can get
And I need all the love that I can't get to

Can't get to
And I need all the love
That you can guess?

This is a political song against American politics at the time. Most people in the US don't know this but in Europe they knew right away!

Pump up sunday: The first time I played the song in my house, a neighbour who never talked to me started talkig to me, My next door couple who were considering ddivorce started reconciling each other, elder women of my neighbourhood seemed to be getting interested to me. My corner store on the verge of closing down started renovating. My two pet one dog and another cat who were arch rival became friend.. My dog started dating with neighbour's dog and my cat started flirting with many others. The fishes in my aquarium started randomly breeding. And my doctor said that my serotonin and testosterone got balanced. Infact, this is the funny review of this song I once read in a music magazine.

a great gothic rock song. moves really well in its chord/lyric progression. Patricia is very sexy... oh and might i be the first to say "omg I cannot believe no one has commented on this song yet"

He seems to be talking about admiration-love rather than love as in a relationship. My guess is that he is expressing his need for recognition of his musical greatness.

"I don't know Why you gotta be so undemanding"

If so, then he's talking to a band member rather than a woman.

"Learning to cry for fun and profit I'm not done yet Counterfeit dollars or the English zloty Anything I can get"

This is the interesting part. Is he promising us more? (of his greatness)

If memory serves me right, fake zlotys were produced by some arm of the British government during the second world war. Probably some kind of attempt to destabilise the Nazi occupation in Poland. Goes with the "counterfeit dollar" part, certainly.

    I've always thought it's:

And I need all the love I can get And I need all the love that I can't get, too

I love the line "I don't know why you gotta be so undemanding." We tend to complain if people are demanding. But most people are UNdemanding, satisfied with mediocrity. They get scared to feel too much.

On another level the song is self-referential, the ambitions of rock stardom and of course "learning to cry for fun and profit."

These aren't even the right lyrics!

    Quoted:

If anybody had told me that anybody'd have a hold on me I'd say they were out of their mind But speakin' of crazy, I'm findin' lately All I want, all I need, all the time is

More of your sweet love Too much just ain't enough I never needed a fix like this before Too strong to resist I don't know when to quit Like a kid in a candy store You keep me comin' back for more

I can't explain it, I'm more than infatuated You got me good, I got it bad There's no doubt about it, I can't live without it What you got, I just gotta have So gimme

More of your sweet love Too much just ain't enough I never needed a fix like this before Too strong to resist I don't know when to quit Like a kid in a candy store You keep me comin' back for more

Too strong to resist I don't know when to quit Like a kid in a candy store You keep me comin' back for more You keep me comin' back for more You keep me comin' back for more More and more and more Comin' back for, more Gimme, gimme, gimme some more I'm comin' back for more

The only reason I made a profile was to say these lyrics can't be right. Even the description is wrong. The song was written by Andrew Eldritch and Jim Steinmen and I think it first appeared on Vision Thing. Erm... the reason I'm not editing it myself is because I would rather find someone who agrees with me first, and I don't know how this site works yet. Until now I've always just read people's posts. Also I don't know the lyrics well. I'm guessing nobody will see this comment for ages though.

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Cajun Girl
Little Feat
Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.

American Town
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran shares a short story of reconnecting with an old flame on “American Town.” The track is about a holiday Ed Sheeran spends with his countrywoman who resides in America. The two are back together after a long period apart, and get around to enjoying a bunch of fun activities while rekindling the flames of their romance.
