I'm dressed all in blue and I'm remembering you
And the dress you wore when you broke my heart
I'm depressed upstairs and I'm remembering where
And when and how and why'd you have to go so far

Am I gonna be lonely for the rest of my life
Am I gonna be lonely for the rest of my life
I'm gonna be lonely for the rest of my life
Unless you come around so come around

I'm dressed all in white and I remember the night
You came on to me and opened up my heart
I was hollow then till you filled me in now I'm empty again
I should have never let it start

Am I gonna be lonely for the rest of my life
Am I gonna be lonely for the rest of my life
I'm gonna be lonely for the rest of my life
Unless you come around so come around

No one else can fix me although sometimes my heart tricks me
Into thinking someone else will do
But you're the only one you are the only one
Am I gonna be lonely for the rest of my life

Am I gonna be lonely for the rest of my life
I'm gonna be lonely for the rest of my life
Unless you come around so come around
So come around so come around

I'm dressed all in blue and I'm remembering you
And the dress you wore when you broke my heart

As for the song, I think it's about losing someone you loved, and not being able to imagine yourself with any other person ever, everything reminds you of them, and being convinced that unless you are with that one person, you're going to be lonely for the rest of your life.

    Memory

Also saw it on Scrubs, My T.C.W., one of my favorite eps of all times.

I've never heard of a song that puts heartbreak into a better perspective:

You came onto me And opened up my heart I was hollow then Till you filled me in Now I'm empty again I should have never let it start

In my case, and many of yours if I'm reading this right, it was like I put everything I had into that relationship (time, money, everything) and at the time that made me feel full but when she left all that was gone and I felt hollow and lost. Because I invested all my time with her I had lost almost all track with my friends during it and after she left me with nothing else save for my family and my dog.

So far they're the only things that have kept me grounded.

I'd like to think that things have changed since then but here I sit, four long years later, asking myself will I ever be able to get over her you know? Or will I simply be lonely for the rest of my life?

I love this song, me and a few friends saw him in a local concert with a few other bands. We were like 3 rows from the stage and you can just see his expressions! Hes great! I loved his whole set. But this song is just so cool when you hear it live!

I heard this song about 2 months ago on a tv show i've spent months looking for it because i never knew the name or artist just how it went. I stopped looking about a week ago and yesterday i was driving home from my vacation in georgia and going through all the radio stations when this song came on. This song is beautiful. To me its a song about someone you love who left you out in the cold. And as some think you can only love once. So he is trying to win back the one he loves but wondering if he will just end up "lonely for the rest of my life"

Fortnight
Taylor Swift
The song 'Fortnight' by Taylor Swift and Post Malone tells a story about strong feelings, complicated relationships, and secret wishes. It talks about love, betrayal, and wanting someone who doesn't feel the same. The word 'fortnight' shows short-lived happiness and guilty pleasures, leading to sadness. It shows how messy relationships can be and the results of hiding emotions. “I was supposed to be sent away / But they forgot to come and get me,” she kickstarts the song in the first verse with lines suggesting an admission to a hospital for people with mental illnesses. She goes in the verse admitting her lover is the reason why she is like this. In the chorus, she sings about their time in love and reflects on how he has now settled with someone else. “I took the miracle move-on drug, the effects were temporary / And I love you, it’s ruining my life,” on the second verse she details her struggles to forget about him and the negative effects of her failure. “Thought of callin’ ya, but you won’t pick up / ‘Nother fortnight lost in America,” Post Malone sings in the outro.

The Night We Met
Lord Huron
This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines: "Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet" So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other: "I had all and then most of you" Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart "Some and now none of you" Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship. This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,

Blue
Ed Sheeran
“Blue” is a song about a love that is persisting in the discomfort of the person experiencing the emotion. Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there. He expresses the realization that he might never find another on this stringed instrumental by Aaron Dessner.
