I know things are getting tougher
When you can't get the top off the bottom of the barrel
Wide open road of my future now
It's looking fucking narrow

All I know is that I don't know
All I know is that I don't know nothing
All I know is that I don't know
All I know is that I don't know nothing

We get told to decide
Just like, as if, I'm not gonna change my mind

All I know is that I don't know
All I know is that I don't know nothing
All I know is that I don't know
All I know is that I don't know nothing

What'cha gonna do with yourself?
Boy, better make up your mind
What'cha gonna do with yourself, boy?
You're running out of time

This time I got it all figured out

All I know is that I don't know
All I know is that I don't know nothing
All I know is that I don't know
All I know is that I don't know nothing

All I know is that I don't know
All I know is that I don't know nothing
All I know is that I don't, don't know
All I know is that I don't know nothing

And that's fine

that's bull$HlT dude, I mean Green Day has their short comings for sure, but seriously man, If anyone has incorporated punk philisophy into the mainstream without completely selling their soul and ideals to the 'man', its green day. They don't write what they think people want to hear, they write what they feel and it happens to be the sentiment of a LOT of people in this country and throughout the world.
You should listen closely to the lyrics of Operation Ivy songs and be sure you actually agree with them before you go raving about how good they are. I mean its fine if you don't agree, but the message of Op Ivy and other punk rock greats is one of Unity, Humbleness, DIY, and generally good treatment of other people and the environment. I thought for a long time about those things and decided that they were in harmony with the way I currently live and intend to live my life, so I went out and got a Unity tattoo, as an homage to OpIvy, but more importantly their message.
Those beliefs arent for everyone, I know that. And they certainly are not the sentiments of George W Bush. If you really support him, enough to brag about it while simultaniously bashing punk rock ideals (yes, green day holds true to punk ideals, thats a whole nother conversation), I think you REALLY need to think long and hard if this music is really expressing your beliefs. Now if I had to pick between the moral examples set forth by Op Ivy or President Bush, I would certainly chose Op Ivy, and I have, but a lot of people choose the other direction and thats fine, until they lose touch with themselves and fall to the level of belittling others for personal gain.
Alls I'm saying is think about it.

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,

Page
Ed Sheeran
There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
