I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

This is one of my favorite songs by The Ataris, it has a special meaning to me my ex-boyfriend wrote the lyrics of this song and sent it to me. I loved the song before too, and loved it even more. But now, when I listen to it, it reminds me of him and how much i miss him. The song, holds a great meaning to it though, and can be taken in different ways at when and how you are feeling when listening to it. It holds a memory or a feeling to everyone.
I love this song..definitely my favorite Ataris song..only one that comes close to this one for me is "Life Makes No Sense". This means to much to me because this is exactly how I feel about my girlfriend. I talk to her about it and send it to her in e-mails about once every week or so, since she lives so far away. Then when I do get to spend time with her, I always sing it to her. It's just a great love song that has it's own unique sound and style. The Ataris are definitely one of my favorite bands:)
