In regards to the meaning of this song:
Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.”
That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

I just had to get this out. I am a Christian, and I think that saying that Christians are arrogant is a bogus statement. The Bible itself condemns Christians that glorify themselves and chastise anti-Christians. I believe that everyone on Earth is a sinner, even me. Ever heard of "False Teachers"? Well, that's what an arrogant, so-called Christian really is. For Pete's sake, I don't go around to atheists and other religious people and tell them "You're Going To Hell and I'm Not!!" That's another thing the Bible condemns. Church is a gathering place for sinners, and you don't have to go to church every Sunday to be saved. Real Christians love EVERYBODY, no matter what. That is my interpretation of Christianity, and it is stated over and over again in the Bible. So please, don't judge all Christians as snobs, because real Christians aren't.
Besides that point, I think Slayer is a great, uncompromising Metal Band. Rock on!!

I dont think this song is about religion in genral but about how people think that they can do whatever they want and just at the end go light a candle or go kiss the Cross and it will all go away. Most dont even feel remorseful or guilty for what they do they just do their little ritual and think its all going to be ok.

I am not an atheist. I dont believe in a specific religion but i believe in a higher power. Nobodys seen that higher power because everyone dies before they go werever they are bound to go. THe plain truth is nobody knows whats on the other side and close minded religous people need to open their minds.
I also think that not all christians are like it says in the song, because I am christian and yet i have some things I do not agree with the religion or the people from the religion so lets say that I believe in Christ more than in the religion itself

I would have to disagree with most of you. God is real/ You dont have to go to Church to be a believer. I believe in God and I have strong belief in him but that doesnt mean I go to Church every time there is. Masterofpuppets80 dont listen to your cousin, she isnt true. But God is real. If you went to Church it has a positive atmospher almost as soon as you walk in the door. But alot of churches are home to a bunch of Hypocrites who just gossip and wont shut thier mouths. You can see the Holy Ghost depending on which church you go too so theres kinda proof there too. So im not going to pressure anybody to go worship God but its something to think about.
