And I feel that time's a ways to go
So where you going 'til tomorrow?
And I see that these are lies to come
So would you even care?

And I feel it
And I feel it

Where you going for tomorrow?
Where you goin' with the mask I found?
And I feel, and I feel
When the dogs begin to smell her
Will she smell alone?

And I feel so much depends on the weather
So is it raining in your bedroom?
And I see that these are the eyes of disarray
Would you even care?

And I feel it
And she feels it

Where you going for tomorrow?
Where you goin' with the mask I found?
And I feel, and I feel
When the dogs begin to smell her
Will she smell alone?

When the dogs do find her
Got time, time to wait for tomorrow
To find it, to find it, to find it
When the dogs do find her
Got time, time to wait for tomorrow
To find it, to find it, to find it

Where you going for tomorrow?
Where you goin' with the mask I found?
And I feel, and I feel
When the dogs begin to smell her
Will she smell alone?

When the dogs do find her
Got time, time to wait for tomorrow
To find it, to find it, to find it
When the dogs do find her
Got time, time to wait for tomorrow
To find it, to find it, to find it

To find it
To find it
To find it

I can see how you could interpret this song in many ways. However, 'when the dogs begin to smell her' doesn't necessarily mean that she's dead and buried. Dogs could be understood as worthless men beginning to sniff around her, trying to get with her. And 'Will she smell alone?' could be thought of as will she be the only one that these men are after, or does she stand a chance of avoiding them. Dogs could also mean ruin. That when ruin finds her, will she just go down, or will he go down too. Just a thought or two about this song. It is such a great song I'd hate to think that it's about a rape victim. The only person that can truly tell us the meaing to this song, of course, is Scott Weiland.

It is both...He was inspired to write this song when a girl he knew was kidnapped and killed but the it led him to another meaning to the song witch is a metaphore about a lost obsesive relationship

    This is my interpretation:

And I feel that time's a wasted go So where ya going to tomorrow? (*don't waste time going home if soon we'll be together again)

And I see that these are lies to come Would you even care? (*you will lie to him about being with me, without remorse)

And I feel it And I feel it Where ya going to tomorrow? (*I am certain you will come back to me)

Where ya going with that mask I found? (*youre going home with me in your mind)

And I feel, and I feel When the dogs begin to smell her Will she smell alone? (*So when his suspicions arise will he suspect about me?)

And I feel, so much depends on the weather So is it raining in your bedroom? (* It all depends on your relationship now with him, and lack of desire for him)

And I see, that these are the eyes of disarray Would you even care? (*I know trouble will come, are you ready)

And I feel it And she feels it Where ya going to tomorrow? (*)

Where ya going with that mask I found? (*)

And I feel, and I feel When the dogs begin to smell her Will she smell alone? (*)

When the dogs do find her Got time, time, to wait for tomorrow (*When he discovers your infidelity, ill be here waiting.)

    My Interpretation

this is what it think it means... The first line seems sarcastic, or if not caring. and then he begins to describe his relationship with his girl, beginning to figure her out, and he thinks that she doesn't feel as strongly to him. the pre chorus is just his emotion. the chorus describes still if she cares for him at all like he does for her... The mask I found is described as a character she portrays or an emotion that she is showing.... And the dogs symbolize the men that are around her, hitting on her flirting with her, that sort of deal, and then saying, will she trust him and be alone when she's not around him. The 2nd verse starts off with, "so much depends on the weather", which weather can symbolize emotion like dark skies and black clouds are depression...... but he describes in the second line, "so is it raining in your bedroom", going back to the weather part, which rain could symbolize tears and crying. He's questioning if she's crying and upset about their relationship. Then going on to ask again, if she still cares....he seems very hurt as if he'll never see her again. The Bridge goes on to say.. When the men she is around flirt with her and try getting with her, he'll find out later if she's been faithful and wait until tomorrow if she'll still be with him.

according to deleo the lyrics were loosely based on a newspaper article Weiland had read about a girl who had been found dead in an area outside of San Diego. Weiland has also said that the song's lyrics are a metaphor for a failed relationship

i think this song means he lives with a woman that he can not trust, he must always watch out for her to make sure she is not cheaitng on him, and when he says "when the dogs begin to smell her, will she smell alone", meaning when he snoops on her to find out where she is going, will she be alone

Wait, I think I get the chorus, by templepilot 's interpretation....

Where ya going to tomorrow - asking suspiciously

Where ya going with that mask I found? - maybe the mask means some kind of evidence he found that she was cheating

When the dogs begin to smell her, will she smell alone? - like templepilot said, will she smell alone or smell of someone else.

    Song Meaning

I agree that this song was written by D.D. from inspiration of a young girl who was raped and killed. Think of the what the title means, Plush- excessively extravagant or luxurious. Exige, in 2002, is closest to the "dogs begin to smell her" metaphorical meaning. How would a cheating girl be associated with rape, and murder? That meaning is out. I agree with the Obsessive relationship theory. This is about a guy who understands what a girl, of such rare beauty, has to go through in life. The obsession of her comes from his understanding of her and his desire for her, but the question becomes: can he overcome all the distractions of other men promising her the "good life". The "lies to come" are from other men or the dogs sniffing around her. "would you even care"- does she care that these are only lies or is she open to the promise of what the lies can offer. The "mask" is the mask she wears to play the game. The obsessed guy discovers she's wearing this mask and needs to rely on it the fact that it is only a mask and it can be removed. He's willing to wait for tomorrow- he's "got time". He feels it. One day, maybe tomorrow, she'll realize the bullshit she's been putting up with. When that day comes, it's his best chance to have her.

This song is about a rape, definitely. The video is cool.

The whole idea about the guy not trusting the chick. Yeah, I so see it now. The mask he finds is obv the proof he has on her that she's lied. And, he expects there to be more "lies to come" as he confronts her and asks her what will she do w/ that mask (proof).

you are all friggin' idoits. the lyrics to this song were inspired by a girl who was murdered back in the early part of the 90's...however the song is not about that. its a metophor for a lost obsessive relationship.

Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.
