This is one of my favorite songs. https://fnfgo.io
I'm gonna write a little letter
Gonna mail it to my local DJ
It's a rockin' rhythm record
I want my jockey to play
Roll over Beethoven, I gotta hear it again today
You know, my temperature's risin'
And the jukebox blows a fuse
My heart's beatin' rhythm
And my soul keeps on singin' the blues
Roll over Beethoven and tell Tchaikovsky the news
I got the rockin' pneumonia,
I need a shot of rhythm and blues
I think I'm rollin' arthritis
Sittin' down by the rhythm review
Roll over Beethoven rockin' in two by two
Well, if you feel you like it
Go get your lover, then reel and rock it
Roll it over and move on up just
A trifle further and reel and rock it
Roll it over
Roll over Beethoven rockin' in two by two
Well, early in the mornin' I'm a-givin' you a warnin'
Don't you step on my blue suede shoes
Hey diddle diddle, I am playin' my fiddle
Ain't got nothin' to lose
Roll over Beethoven and tell Tchaikovsky the news
You know she wiggles like a glow worm
Dance like a spinnin' top
She got a crazy partner
Oughta see 'em reel and rock
Long as she got a dime the music will never stop
Roll over Beethoven
Roll over Beethoven
Roll over Beethoven
Roll over Beethoven
Roll over Beethoven and dig these rhythm and blues

This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version.
Great version of a great song,

This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.

How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.

“Blue” is a song about a love that is persisting in the discomfort of the person experiencing the emotion. Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there. He expresses the realization that he might never find another on this stringed instrumental by Aaron Dessner.
and your point is? THis guy is massively cool. He is his own man in all these early songs. What a talent unparalleled.
Perfect example of a Berry lyric that flows with the beat. The third verse is pure genius.
This is a great song. Nobody comments much on people like chuck berry but he was so important for music. Thats what this songs about, music beginning to change with the birth of rock and roll in the 50's. This guy heavily influenced The Beatles and look how much they influenced music even to today. The lyrics in this song are amazing: 'I got the rockin' pneumonia, I need a shot of rythmn and blues'. Thats genius! Roll over Beethoven and tell Tschaikowsky the news. Amazing!
Better than Johnny B. Goode, in my opinion.
Chuck Berry telling the world that classical music is dead, and that people are gonna be listning to his Rock'n'roll now rather than that Beathoven nonsence.
Also inspired by the fact that as a child he didnt get a chance to show off his musical ability, as his sister was always playing classical music on the Piano. He wanted his turn!
@Comrade_Liar I have to say that I disagree with you in your interpretation of this song. Chuck Berry is not saying that classical music is dead; he is announcing his entry into the music world. Telling Beethoven to "Roll over and tell Tchaikovsky the news", he is announcing that he is here, and he's got talent. <br /> The version that is done with ELO re-enforces this concept, as nobody blended classical music and classic rock better than ELO did.
i think people don't give enough credit to chuck berry, he practically invented rock and roll. And this song is amazing, it has all you need in a real rock&roll song.
If you listen very closely to the verse after the guitar solo, "Well, early in the mornin'" is actually a mistake. Chuck starts singing "Roll Over Beethoven" again. He says "Roll O...early in the morning..." He catches himself and corrects it which makes this even more of a classic if not one of the best ever Rock & Roll songs written.
The one the greatest and most influential piece of art. No wonder they call him the father of Rock 'n roll.
this song is shit, one of the worst songs ive heard tbh
this is probably the gayest song ever
