Six o'clock in the morning
You're the last to hear the warning
You've been tryin' to throw your arms around the world
You've been falling off the sidewalk
Your lips move but you can't talk
Tryin' to throw your arms around the world

Gonna run to you, run to you, run to you
Be still
Gonna run to you, run to you, run to you
Woman I will
Oh!

Sunrise like a nosebleed
Your head hurts and you can't breathe
You've been tryin' to throw your arms around the world
How far you gonna go?
Before you lose your way back home
You've been tryin' to throw your arms
Around the world

Gonna run to you, run to you, run to you
Woman be still
I'm gonna run to you, run to you, run to you
Woman I will

Yeah, I dreamed that I saw Dali
With a supermarket trolley
He was tryin' to throw his arms around a girl
He took an open top beetle (open top beetle)
Through the eye of a needle (eye of a needle)
He was tryin' to throw his arms around the world

Gonna run to you, run to you, run to you
Woman be still
I want to run to you, run to you, run to you
Oh, Woman I will

Ah
And you just gotta, you just gotta make your faith, see
Ooh
Ooh
Yeah yeah, yeah yeah, yeah yeah, yeah yeah

Nothin' much to say I guess
You're just the same as all the rest
Been tryin' to throw your arms around the world
And a woman needs a man
Like a fish needs a bicycle
When you're tryin' to throw your arms around the world

I'm gonna run to you, run to you, run to you
I'm gonna run to you, run to you, run to you
I'm gonna run to you, run to you, run to you
Woman be still
Woman be still
Be still
Woman be still
Woman I will

    My Interpretation

this song describes a couple, a man and a woman, in a dysfunctional relationship. the woman is unsatisfied with her man to the point of being disloyal, she needs more out of the world than just his love, hence trying to throw her arms around the world, instead of around the man. he keeps loyal to her out of love and admiration for her, but is unable to be of any assist to her in her pursuits, all he can do is to keep loving her and keep offering his unreserved love, though he understands it is of little value for her. out of love, he is willing to stay by her side, hence running after her, till she finds good use for his love.

Six o'clock in the morning [she's out, he's home] You're the last to hear the warning [she acts as if she is not afraid to lose his love] You've been trying to throw your arms [she is unsatisfied with his love for her] Around the world [she needs more out of the world than his love] You've been falling off the sidewalk [she struggles and suffers outside his love] Your lips move but you can't talk [there is no one there to listen to her needs as he can] Tryin' to throw your arms around the world [but she feels she needs something more never the less]

I'm gonna run to you, run to you, run to you [i will always be there for you when you want me] Be still [let me be by your side, let me help you] I'm gonna run to you, run to you, run to you Woman I will [that's all i want out of life]

Sunrise like a nosebleed [she suffers in her discontent] Your head hurts and you can't breathe [she suffers from trying too hard] You been tryin' to throw you arms around the world How far you gonna go [she doesn't seem to change her mind] Before you lose your way back home [he might lose her completely eventually] You've been trying to throw your arms Around the world

I'm gonna run to you, run to you, run to you [he has no intentions of losing her] Woman be still [he cries for her to stop running away from his love] I'm gonna run to you, run to you, run to you [he will stay loyal despite everything] Woman I will [she means the world to him]

Yeah, I dreamed that I saw Dali [he dreamt at night that he succeeded in doing something impossible] With a supermarket trolley [he only wants them to succeed as a couple] He was trying to throw his arms around a girl [he tried so hard to satisfy her] He took an open top beetle [in the dream he succeeds, and he and she are together] Through the eye of a needle [the overcome every obstacle together] He was tryin' to throw his arms around the world [being together means the world to both of them]

I'm gonna run to you, run to you, run to you Woman be still I'm gonna run to you, run to you, run to you Oh, Woman I will

(And you just gotta, you just gotta make your faith...see...) [he begs her to believe in him and his love for her]

Nothin' much to say I guess [he puts no blame on her, he can only declare his love] Just the same as all the rest [but he understands why she might not be satisfied with that] Been trying to throw your arms around the world [she needs more than what he can offer] And a woman needs a man [so she has no much use for him] Like a fish needs a bicycle [he is actually useless in helping her gain what she wants] When you're tryin' to throw your arms around the world [because she wants something else than him]

I'm gonna run to you, run to you, run to you [but he will remain loyal yet] I'm gonna run to you, run to you, run to you [but he will remain loyal yet] I'm gonna run to you, run to you, run to you [but he will remain loyal yet] Woman be still [believe in me] Woman be still [believe in me] Be still Woman be still Woman I will [you mean the world to me]

Man i cant believe no one has made any comments on this song. This song hits hard with me. Im not sure what it means but i know what it means to me. For me, this is all the crazy things you do when you are trying to chase a girl or find a relationship with God. Its like you try to do all these things but they end up being in vain, and somehow you end up further than where you started.

"Like a fish needs a bicycle" meaning they don't need it at all, right? Hmm...

Nevermind, I found out that that is a famous quote by a feminist. So I think he's singing to a feminist.

Bono said on an interview with Fuse that this was the "Irish Beer Drinking Song" for them, like when his wife throws him out (lol).

I love this song, another brilliant song from Achtung Baby. I love the chorus "I'm gonna run to you, run to you, run to you". Also some great witty lines "A woman needs a man, like a fish needs a bicycle".

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

Blue
Ed Sheeran
“Blue” is a song about a love that is persisting in the discomfort of the person experiencing the emotion. Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there. He expresses the realization that he might never find another on this stringed instrumental by Aaron Dessner.
