high hopes/pink floyd

I didn't find him til I got home and it was too late but he always loved Pink Floyd and when I went and saw the computer on he had high hopes on the utube which he probably listened to while he hung himself. Is this some sort of depressing song bec my son was very depressed and lonely. He was 28 yrs old. He had applied for a job and didn't get it bec of the drug test. Anybody out there can figure this out because I am 64 and I know Pink Floyd but don't understand their lyrics all the time.
