I'm Nykki, 15 years old...Don't know how much I'll use this site, but I love to interpret the meaning of songs, books, games (Tale-of-Tales', for example), etc. I absolutely adore poetry for this reason, but I'm sadly not gifted in writing poetry. I do love creative writing and drawing, though.
I'm quiet, an artist of sorts, and a gamer. I'm on a few other sites...might post those later. I have a strange taste of music...I'm a lil' bit of an Indie kid in the fact that I don't like much of anything *popular*, but I'm not so lost as a freak in my tastes to make sure nothing I like gets popular... I'll share what I like with you, though...unlike others that want to keep /their/ music /theirs/. Now whether you'll like it or not, teehee...This IS a songs site, so might as well, eh?
I love Adam Young. Not Fireflies...Owl City is pretty cool, but I really enjoy his other bands. Port Blue is very calming, but he also has Seagull Orchestra and Insect Airport. Neither are very popular at all, but they're really good. Insect Airport might be a lil' out there, though :P He's Christian, so you can pretty much expect clean music without nasty meanings or swear words outta him, etc. Also, Adam Young is Indie o_O
Also, Joanna Newsom is wonderful. She's an acquired taste (or you might just hate her and never soften to her 'unique' voice), but I find her voice very calming and warm. Her songs are very poetic. I'm not really sure what half the songs mean, but that's half of why I love it so much.
Gregory and the Hawk. Meredith Godreau has a very soft, sweet voice, but often sings break-upy songs. I love her as a poet. She's also the artist I can best imitate with my soft soprano voice :P
Milkman-Dan. Yes, off of Newgrounds...I forget exactly how I came across him, as I don't exactly stalk anything at all really on that site, but I'm glad I found him. He writes more serious, sad music...but there's always the element of hope in his voice. Lyrics or not, each note, each word is absolutely perfect. The overruling majority of his songs are...perfect. I just can't get over how much I just love his music.
Enya...also Christian, if I'm right. (I like clean music, lawls? Of course Christians aren't perfect, but if the artist is trully, ideally you can trust they're music will be wholesome xD) I just love her voice. I listen to her songs in the background as I write or draw because it's not very distracting. Just beautiful and calm.
