I don't understand the expression "dreams of visions", maybe the writer is referring to esoteric dreams because you don't have "dreams of visions", you either have one or the other.
Secondly, I don't know if the term "mystic crystal revelation" has any connection to the use of the crystal ball and to witchcraft: I certainly hope not. Apart from this the song is a great one in my view.
The references to the moon being in the seventh zone and Jupiter lining up with Mars are not astrological references in my view since, even as commentators have noted, the first of these things occurs daily, the other several times a year.
In my view this is a reference to ancient history after the flood where the ignoble ancestor, Tammuz, was referred to as the 'moon god'. His father and his brother were the rulers Jupiter (Anu) and Mars (Enlil) respectively.
The seventh house is not a reference to the seventh constellation of the zodiac, in my view, but to the house of condemned prisoners in the netherworld which comprised seven chambers separated by seven gates: the underworld into which Ishtar, the wife of the "moon god", descended leading to her, and subsequently to her husband's, confinement there.
The song is therefore saying that when Tammuz is in prison and the rulers Anu and Enlil are in agreement then the ordinary people (planets) will find peace and the princes (stars) will be filled with love.
This song sounds to me like a beautiful rendition of historical events that actually took place in the Middle East around 2200 BC at the dawn of this present civilization.
Roger
alright then.
Do you agree with my interpretation of the song or do you have a different view?
Roger
Well, I don't know the song very well, I basically only know the first line, and the part that goes "this is the dawning of the age of Aquarius." I didn't look up the lyrics and compare them to your interpretation, but it sounded quite convincing. You clearly spent some time thinking about it, and articulating your comments, which is more than can be said for most of the crap comments that get posted.
Do I agree? Well, I don't disagree.
I'm sorry Roger, that song isn't emo at all.
*** Ok artsuit, I hear you. og tool, you wrote: " I'm sorry Roger, that song isn't emo at all."
*** You are probably right since, strictly speaking, it was recorded well before the emo era began and also since its appeal is really to leaders and not to the masses of everyday people, at least in my interpretation of the song. But you sound a bit dissappointed that the song is not emo. Give us some emo lyrics that appeal to you. Roger
OK, Roger. Actually this song is not emo either, but ne'mind:
I think it's about the zodiac

Call it peace or call it treason; call it love or call it reason, but i ain't marchin' any more.
hahaha, we have a gentleman of class amongst us

[quote I think it's about the zodiac
*** Interesting lyrics og tool, sounds to me like the experience of someone who is under heavy sedation. But give me your interpretation of it. Why do you say it has something to do with the zodiac?
Roger
[\quote I'm sorry, we were just having a bit of fun at your expense. *** That's ok, in fact I myself had a bit of a laugh when I read the song lyrics posted by azkm (mistakenly called og tool in my last post). Its probably just that what we don't quite understand sounds absurd to us at first. I think the lyrics are serious though and I don't want to be placed in the category of those that "jest at scars that never felt a wound". Admittedly I don't know anything about the age of Aquarius, astrology, or the musical Hair. Suffice to say that I think astrology is complete BS because it is earth centric from what I understand.. the movement of various heavenly bodies in relation to earth. *** I don't believe in the horroscope thing either but I love studying ancient history and to me all this thing about associating the stars and planets with 'gods' is nothing more than the ancients describing historical events in terms of these celestial bodies. They actually wrote their history in the sky and it is now up to us to decode that history. But could the age of Aquarius be somehow tied into the end of the Mayan calendar in 2012?[\quote *** Like I said I am not into astrology in the superstitious way people normally view it so I can't at this point confirm whether the concept of an age of Aquarius is valid or not, neither can I say whether the end of the Mayan calender in 2012 has any significance. What I can say however, from a scientific point of view, is that just as the daily sunrise is significant to life on earth in that it causes the whole earth to come alive with the light and radiation energy it brings so too the procession of these zodiacal constellations across the sky brings with it seasonal changes on the earth. Even more interestingly, as you might know the entire solar system moves back and forth (that is up and down) in our galaxy so that at certain times in our history the earth will sweep through regions in space that will be loaded with space debris (meteors etc). This could be very dangerous for the planet since it is possible for us to get meteor showers that do substantial damage to life on earth at those times. Furthermore, these catastrophic events that might occur when the solar system is near the equator of the galaxy take place in cycles of our history and it is possible that the ancients who experienced some of these events would have noted their ominous signs by the positions of the stars and planets in the sky. So, if you are still with me, what I am saying is that it is not inconceivable to think that ancient cultures such as the Mayans might have time-measuring-devices/ calendars by which to predict such cataclysmic events. On the other hand, outside of the age of Aquarius concept and of the Mayan calendar my source of information is the Bible and that predicts a utopian age on earth that will be preceded by a period of great disaster which in turn will be heralded by very unusual celestial activity. Nevertheless, my view on 2012 is that it does NOT spell the end of the world if that is what you are thinking the Mayan calendar might be predicting. But, I see you found the lyric area on your own for this song and have posed your question there.[\quote *** Yeah, I posted there but it doesn't seem as though that forum is frequented. Roger
I personally believe that at some point in the coming centuries humanity is going to "shed this mortal coil", and we will become sort of quasi synthetic bio-machine men; achieving immortality. Once science and technology liberates us of all those things that cause differentiation and suspicion, pride and jealousy, exercising those alleals from our DNA that form human passion for war, we will achieve all those things that the poppy 5th dimension are belting out in the song. Look closely at the words "crystal" and you will understand where I'm coming from dig it..
This is all your fault, artsuit
dig it.
Og when will you read that book i recommended? (it's not about the mayan calender.)

^^ haha, some day my friend, some day.
Og tool wrote: "Look closely at the words "crystal" and you will understand where I'm coming from dig it.." *** I'm not sure I get it. It sounds like you are saying that the song's perspective of the future utopia came from crystal ball. On another issue, here's a clarification for the records of something I said in my first post above: in my view, Tammuz is a so called 'moon god' only by a conflation with the original character who is Shem, his brother, the father of the Semitic peoples. I still think, however, that the song is viewing Ham as the 'moon god' since it was he who did time in the seventh house. Also, without noticing it, in saying that the expression " dreams of visions" had no meaning since it is either one OR the other I was actually saying that the lyrics here might have been quoted incorrectly and that they should really be "dreams or visions".
