I'm not usually interested in watching sports, but I watched a bit of the Olympics today and it was exciting. What have you guys been watching?

The women's 10,000m was AWESOME.

I've been really enjoying the saga that is the Heptathlon.

I've surprised myself with how much I've been watching. I am really enjoying the whitewater events.

Are other countries (and their coverage of the olympics) obsessed with Phelps? Or is that really a US thing?

Google Phelps coverage UK and you'll see how much coverage he's getting there! Just amazing.

fixed sports, corrupt judges, screwed over athletes, soccer teams playing not to win in order to get a better spot in the tournaments..

Clearly the best of humanity is on display here...

Which sports are fixed, OPD?

I haven't seen anything about Phelps, but then i haven't watched any swimming. Also i'm watching things on the the bbc website, so i can pick and chose, and watch whenever i like.

jtk, i watched the two man canoeing and the one woman kayaking. That was fun.

Trampoline might be the most ridiculous sport in the Olympics.

Apparently the IOC is reviewing 8 different sports to be considered for inclusion to the 2020 Olympics. But they said they'd only approve one of them. Baseball, softball, wakeboarding, wushu, roller derby, squash, rock climbing, and karate.

Please tell me I am not the only person who does not know what squash is.

Yep. Still.

i've had zero interest in the olympics this year. i haven't caught even a brief glimpse of it save for an article or two. the "disgraced" badminton player from china was a real laugher.

boxing for sure, possibly gymnastics...that fencing match where the south korean chick got screwed certainly looked fixed...who knows what the soccer players are doing...

Yeah, squash is the only one of those sports that it would be sensible to have in the olympics.

I haven't watched any, I'm ok with the Thrill of victory, but have a hard time watching the Agony of Defeat.
