I submitted a correction of some lyrics and have been waiting weeks for its approval. When will it be approved?

How did you submit the correction? Did you use the new "Submit Corrections" link on the lyrics page, or the Report Thread in the forum?

Thanks, that would be lovely. Most artists don't need their lyrics corrected but my favourite artist doesn't provide lyrics and we fans have to scramble to figure them out ourselves by ear... most of them we get wrong until she sings it live and it gets clearer. :P

In the latter part of August I submitted the lyrics to Love Letter by Clairy Browne & the Bangin' Rackettes. They still do not appear. However, 'Mike' listed the song Love Letter on the artist's page. Yet when you try to search for "Love Letter' on the front page of this site, the song is not listed. (77 other songs with the title Love Letter are). Please fix that plus add the lyrics. I did resubmit the lyrics on the actual page, but apparently that too was not enough to satisfy. Thank you for your time and attention to this matter.

I am looking into why the song title is not appearing in the search results, "NooContact". I updated the lyrics.

I am retracting that Thank You. You posted the original lyrics and NOT the corrected lyrics (which I have posted below). AND, the lyrics were credited to you. Hmmmmm....I don't recall you taking all that time to sit and listen to the lyrics while trying to jot them down correctly, do you? No one else on the Internet had them, so I hope you will make the correction quickly before the wrong/incomplete lyrics end up all over the web. Thank you in advance.

The system records the original user who created the entry in the database. This is why I am listed there. It's not a conspiracy against you. But I will update the record since you are clearly upset about it.

If you take a look now, you'll see "NooContact" as being credited.

As for points being swiped, what do you mean? We are not recording points for lyrics being added.

Listing lyrics (especially) if they are found nowhere on the Internet takes the most effort. Perhaps recording points for that feat would make the most sense. I honestly don't care about the points, but I am highly competitive. It's the lyrics CORRECTION that concerns me. I just wanted to jab you for your theivery, if that's even how you spell it.

We have not determined how much submitting lyrics (and or editing lyrics) would be worth. We're still watching the points system within comments to see how it will play out for other areas.

I don't care about the points. They're stoopid. Unless someone's using them to buy me a pizza, a new CD, or another box of blonde hair dye y'all can have my points.Some people do care, though, and lyrics submission should be 3x as much (or more!) as friggin' commenting on a song. Then again, that's just my opinion, and I'm a blonde. Well, sort of.

Hey Mike, I'm just taking a second to thank you for running this site. I'd love to be a mod and help out, I'm pretty much obsessed with getting lyrics right. Haha, my favourite artist iamamiwhoami doesn't release lyrics and us fans have to listen over and over again, and I'm a mod on the fansite, so it's my job to make sure the lyrics are perfect. Thanks to your "edit lyrics" feature I was able to continuously update iamamiwhoami's lyrics. Unfortunately, as I highlighted before, a few songs have not been updated as they were made by some other user who doesn't bother to update them. I was hoping I could have some control over ALL of iamamiwhoami's song lyrics. Would that be possible? :)

This seems like a great way to get help on the site, people who are willing to mod a few or more artists. I know for sure, I am in the Murder by Death section more than is healthy, & since i had to recreate my account, I don't have the points to edit things. But maybe it would help you if people took portions & sections? It's probably not feasible to just have editor mods, but it's a thought, maybe?

Simon says to close your eyes, stand on your head naked (geesh, the larger one. Must I explain everything), shake your hiney, yell "Uncle" at the top of your lungs, all the while praying to Buddha that you'll be allowed to update. FYI: I have over 2,000 points so you know I have all the answers. Sorry, just laughing 'cause I just noticed how very, very special I am (so special that I can't even count that high:), although you shoud notice I don't have the word "trusted" near my username.
