I would really appreciate if you do not delete my comments in the forum.
In The Report Thread I told you that the lyrics currently published for the song Holiday Flyer - Strange are wrong. I followed the guidelines in the opening post and provided the link to the relevant song. I wrote that I do not know the lyrics for the whole song but I gave you the first line to make clear that I know the song. I told you that the incorrect lyrics are provided by Lyricfind. It feels absurd to see the currently published lyrics knowing that some other lyric sites sooner or later will copy them.
In another post in the same thread, a user informed you that there were two artists called "Belly". azkm who answered wrote that you (songmeanings) wanted some information so that the artists could be distinguished. I gave you some short information on nationality and other things and suggested two web sites where you could get more exact details.
Both my posts are gone. In the latter case I can understand that the post is deleted because you have dealt with the issue, but I do not think that it is necessary or ideal to delete comments by people who actually help you make the site better by contributing.
In the former case, the problem is not gone because you deleted the comment and tries to hide the problem. Lyricfind fucked up in this case. It is beyond common sense to show lyrics that obviously are TOTALLY incorrect after someone has made it clear to you. A simple google search tells you that the currently published lyrics for this song belong to another song called "Set My Head on Fire" by the artist Fly.
I was polite and I tried to help you on this one. I would accept if the incorrect lyrics for technical reasons had to remain for a while if you had a reasonable explanation, but I can not see how this site will get better if you delete comments when your users just try to help you.
Hello and thanks for your feedback.
I'm not sure what transpired within the Report thread, but I'll address the team to see where we may have come up short.
Regarding LyricFind -- I agree that our current process for correcting lyrics has not been the best. Prior to LyricFind, we were able to control the display of lyrics which means we could make changes in real time. This is still true for unlicensed lyrics.
When we pushed forward with LyricFind, we were not expecting mismatched lyrics. It's something I continue to work closely with them on.
The new version of SM (we're super close) will help the process getting content corrected -- or at the least, brought to our attention in a more formal manner. A forum thread is no longer efficient.
My apologies for your fustration. We see it, too. Please hang in there, improvements are coming. I do not have the "submit corrections" featured pushed out to the new site yet, but if you'd like to see a previous, send me a note: mike at songmeanings dot net
Thanks,
Mike

Hi Weathershow, I deleted our posts in the report thread. I didn't mean any disrespect and I'm sorry to have upset you.
We delete posts from that thread as we address the issues, otherwise it would become impossible for us to use it.
Although the issue you posted wasn't fully resolved, I deleted our conversation about it because I knew you would post again when you had the correct lyrics to the song.
We actually can't immediately correct LyricFind lyrics, what we do is make a list of the errors and send a report to them. I have been copying the reports into the fourth post of that thread, along with the corrections, and then deleting the original posts so that other moderators can find the unaddressed reports easily.
We don't generally delete forum threads or posts, as you can see from the number of locked threads around. That report thread is the one exception, because it would really become impossible for us to use it otherwise.
I hope you will continue to help us out with reports and suggestions.

I think that we can consider this a textbook example of misunderstanding due to lack of information.
From a practical view, I can understand that you have to delete posts from that thread as you address the issues. You were right, azkm, when you knew that I would add the lyrics once I've got them. Everything was crystal clear from your point.
I on the other hand got upset because there was no explanation. I expected something to be done about the lyricfind-generated incorrect lyrics for the song I linked to, only to find out that it remained while my post was gone. I read the opening post again and nothing was written about deletion of posts after the issues are dealt with. I could only guess why you deleted it but I could not read your intentions, I could only analyse what was there for me to perceive.
This matter is a non-issue now that you have given me an explanation, but I think that it could be a lesson to learn from: clear information = less misunderstandings.
I appreciate that you both took the time to give an explanation and the apology is accepted. I will certainly add more lyrics in the future when lyricfind has sorted themselves and the problem with mismatched lyrics are gone. Until then I do not feel comfortable with posting new lyrics for obvious reasons. I am sure that you will solve that problem as it lies in the interest of this site.
Yay! Teamwork!
