Was initally trying to have fun but now I'm done. I get attacked, insulted and crucified because some people are cruel and heartless. It's okay and know I'm a good person. As for you both, I would prey because your both souless. And the one who believes in God should convert to atheism. Because even though God loves and forgives us all. He'd be ashamed of someone who preaches the word but constantly spews hatred. SHAME ON YOU

really.... do you want this thread to turn religious?

While I wouldn't really consider myself a fan of horror by any means, a lot of these movies are not really that scary. Horror and comedy are the two genres of film that date the worst, simply because they function via transgression of social norms, which change, and the transgressions become no longer shocking.

I like The Sixth Sense, though that's more suspense than scary.

Eh, whatever, tried to "quote" and it didn't work. Would have to say The Exorsist really transcends the ages, though, despite changing social norms etc. (computer graphics). I nearly piss my pants every time she pisses hers and if you've seen the "un-cut" version where she bludgens herself with a crusifix and proceeds to tell her mother to "eat me," there is no other movie that can really do justice to the shocking Evil portrayed in that film or book. Com'on now...Demi, Demi...with that crazy voice? Terrifying! Granted the first time I saw the movie I was very young and repeated the lords prayer until I fell asleep, I still get the heebie-jeebies.

I agree; The Ring was also pretty scary as well and for some reason when the deer freak out (if I can remember correctly) in the first one and the horse in the second one affect me just like when Regan pisses herself. There is just something disturbingly sinister about losing self control. Also, a more recent depiction is in Paranormal Activity (which wasn't scary) when after she kill the boyfriend she just sits on the floor for like two days or something.

Damn...come to think of it, I haven't seen a really good scary movie in a long time, and I'm a big horror film buff. The only one that was more interesting than scary was the new one with Anthony Hopkins, but I can't remember the name. Oh, well.

^Anthony Hopkins is an amazing cannibal!!! haha

I really want to see "Woman In Black" when it comes out in February. It looks like a good one. But then again with most scary movies tend to look scarier in the commercials. Like Bag Of Bones. That one was just wierd. I do like most of Stephen Kings stuff though. Thinner was a good one. But i have to say, Misery was a fantastic movie/book. Honestly! When she put that block between his shins and breaks his ankles with a sledge hammer!! it was awesome!!
