Change the band names that appears under the letters ! It's supposed to be like some kind of quick access, but some band names that more people will go see.
Ex.
A
Animal Collective, Arcade Fire, A Day to Remember ...
should be more like

Well, (I'm new) i would like to see a weekly news sect.
something like say: interesting stuff about certain songs, newly posted songs, new bands added, stuff like that.
and maybe a someplace that people can just interact, like certain genre chat areas to share ideas, or a user created lyric area were we can send our own lyrics and discuss them.

A Section informing you on the time left of your pending suggestions for songs and artists and maybe other peoples new comments on songs u commented on recently? I didnt read through all the suggestions so I apologise if I repeated any suggestions.
Maybe A Notifications Column So If Theres New Lyrics posted from a fav artist it comes up or if some one replys to something u post it would come up..
I like the layout. Reposition Statistics an Popular on the same side as the login panel, then I am not ure what you put on the left...
Search box should automatically search for Song Titles rather than Artists :)
Personally I'd prefer seeing a large search box on the homepage and then columns beneath it for News/Articles. Statistics as well as login info should be placed unobtrusively at the bottom and top respectively so it's not obstructing potential space..

maybe a larger menu button for the suggest artists, pending songs, forum buttons etc so users don't have to look for it.
I think that a good feature would be a spelling corrector, similar to what google has.
E.g: if you type "the blakc keys" into the search bar it could come up with "did you mean the black keys"
