ah yess post punk at it's best. i like the later middle class stuff a little more. and no green day have always been poppy warning just took it to a whole other level. the only reason i know is my whole family loves them and i don't.

let's pick up the story where azkm left off. in 1978 the first hardcore record came out. it was by a band called the middle class and it was groundbreaking. the second hc record came out in 1979 by the germs. from then on music just got harder and faster with the nwobhm and thrash metal scene taking musical influence from punk. but a true punk/metal hybrid had to wait until 1984 with the creeation of crossover thrash. then it just exploded with grincore and shit.

haha we know i suck. i have to mention this band. gism. very metallic sounding but fuck the music is well if this were god i'd become an ultra-christian. i've never heard anything like this. if you want to make something better than gism stop right now and give up on life cause you ain't never gonna do it. i mean this is in my top 3 records of all genres of music.

you said it! i just read through this whole thing. first off green day was never political. it's like oh billie hates the government. aw little baby's upset? oh how cute! fuck off pussy. second if we must talk pop punk then let it be what pop punk truly is just melodic punk. green day or blink-182 (oh and i've changed my mind about blink182 being good) have almost nothing to do with punk except for blink was a poppy skate punk band at first. let's talk about one man running or impatient youth okay? and d2d is an ass. enough said.

You won't learn about real punk rock or if its a fit for you until you're old enough to get off that parental nut sack.

p.s. Fugazi and the Clash are the greatest punk bands ever, imo.

Fugazi is great. The Clash got boring after their first record. I cannot stand hearing people go on about how fucking great they thought the Clash was. I mean, I appreciate their incorporation of other genres into their music, but hell, lyrically, they just got boring.
