It obtained mainstream success in 2003, after collaborating with Lil Jon in his single “Get Low.” The song reached #1 on Billboard 100.

The Ying Yang Twins are Kaine (born Dec 16, 1978, and named Eric Jackson) and D-Roc (born Feb 23, 1979, and named De’Angelo Holmes).”Whistle While You Twurk” was the duo’s first group success; it peaked at #16 on the U.S. R&B/Hip-Hop chart.

On April 12, 2005, the band’s album Me & My Brother was certified platinum, producing three additional hits: “What’s Happin!”, “Naggin,” and “Salt Shaker.” (Lil Jon collaborated on the latter.) Kaine and D-Roc have received much attention for their song “Halftime” (featuring Homebwoi), which is played after touchdowns at New Orleans Saints’ home games.

Also in 2006, the duo was nominated for a Grammy Award and an International Dance Award in the category Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group for “Wait (The Whisper Song).” That same track was nominated for an MTV Video Music Award in 2005 in the category Best Rap Video.
