Hmm...I have no notes but just off the top of my head.
It's all about Mark Knophler. He's a really fine guitarist. top thirty i'd say all time at least. A great mix of soulfull music with free spirited jam stuff. Started in the era of big festival concerts with descerning fans that really got into the melodic wanderings and shared "enhanced experience" that only natural pharmicology can provide.
From bouncy fun creations like "Sultans of Swing" to deep probing shared pain numbers like "You and your friend" Mark and the gang were up to delivering a great experience.
I'd compare them with the Dave Mathews Band for bringiong a great jam experience; but honestly there's only a couple of handfulls of guys in rock history like Mark. Guy's very, very good.
P.S. I Love: "Once upon a time in the west". Live
"Six Blade Knife "!!! Especially the version from the desperado soundtrack).
"Down to trhe waterline".
Really just a very very cool band.
One of my all time favorites!
