An alternative rock/Indie rock/post-punk revival band originating from Stafford, Staffordshire, United Kingdom, Editors was formed in 2002.  Band members are Tom Smith (lead vocals/guitar/piano), Russell Leetch (bass guitar/synthesizer/backing vocals), Ed Lay (drums/percussion/backing vocals), Justin Lockey (lead guitar), and Elliot Williams (keys, synthesizers, guitars, backing vocals). As of 2013, two studio albums (both platinum) have been released, with the band’s debut album having been released in 2005. The band’s second album (An End Has a Start) hit #1 in the UK Album Chart n 2007. It helped earn the band a nomination for Best British Band (Brit Awards). Album #3 (In This Light and on This Evening) was released in 2009. It hit #1 on the UK Album Chart. The band’s sound has been compared to the sound of Echo & The Bunnymen, Joy Division, Interpol, The Chameleons, and U2. As of January 2013, the band’s labels include Kitchenware, Epic, and PIAS Recordings.
