Don't think the Shakespeare reference was meant, but it is a lovely accident if not. Lewis is a wonderful songwriter and also a fashionista, so I think the cobbler bit just comes from her interest as an artist in shoes.

What I love about this song, aside from the beautiful melody and harmony, is the sentiment of regret. And then to have that feeling weigh on you until someone sensitive sees that in you. It doesn't cure you to feel seen, but it helps. A kind stranger can see that you've been through some shit, and mentions it to you. We could all do better to do that for others.
The song really soars on the rhyme of "liar" and "fire' and "tired" -- weariness from hating things you've done that you know are wrong, and left out of the song itself, too personal to share. Which is the whole point of the song, an artist sharing but being too ashamed to let it all out.,
